Overview
We are looking for a Data & Analytics Manager to join our EY team and help deliver data-driven insights and solutions to our oil & gas clients. You will guide clients through analytics, data governance, and modern data platforms, providing strategic leadership on how data and analytics can improve operations, increase agility, and drive transformation. You will design and apply comprehensive methods to govern the lifecycle of data assets, perform maturity assessments, and advise on tools and roadmaps aligned with business objectives.
Your Key Responsibilities
Lead complex processes and projects, ensuring quality and risk management while navigating organizational dynamics.
Manage client relationships and engagement delivery with regular travel as needed.
Define and execute analytics and data governance strategy for oil & gas clients, aligning with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
Develop and implement robust data governance frameworks, including policies, data stewardship models, roles, and accountability.
Oversee Master Data Management (MDM), metadata management, and data cataloging to ensure data consistency and trust.
Ensure compliance with data privacy, protection, and regulatory standards (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) with Legal, Security, and Risk teams.
Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team of analysts, engineers, and data stewards.
Design scalable, secure data architectures with enterprise architects and IT to support BI and advanced analytics.
Oversee cloud-based data platforms and technologies (Databricks, Snowflake, Azure, AWS, Hadoop) for ingestion, storage, and processing.
Drive design and implementation of analytical models, data pipelines, and visualizations to provide actionable insights.
Translate business initiatives into prioritized use cases with measurable ROI and manage delivery across domains.
Develop and champion data literacy programs and change management to embed a data-driven culture.
Communicate analytical findings through dashboards and data storytelling for business and technical audiences.
Build and maintain trusted relationships with client stakeholders across operations, IT, engineering, and leadership.
Stay abreast of emerging technologies and oil & gas domain trends.
To Qualify for the Role
A bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in a quantitative/technical field with prior consulting experience preferred.
At least 6 years of relevant experience in data analytics, governance, or data strategy, preferably in oil & gas.
Experience deploying analytics solutions across upstream, midstream, and downstream sectors.
Deep knowledge of data governance, quality frameworks, stewardship, compliance, and policy creation.
Experience with MDM, metadata, lineage tracking, and data catalog tools (e.g., Collibra, Alation).
Proficiency with SQL, Python, R, Power BI, Tableau, Cognite, Palantir, Dataiku, or similar tools.
Experience with big data and cloud platforms (Databricks, Snowflake, Azure, AWS, Hadoop).
Ability to lead large-scale digital transformation engagements and manage delivery risk while building client relationships.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across technical and business domains.
Mentoring mindset and ability to build high-performing data teams.
Understanding of regulatory and data privacy implications within the oil & gas sector.
Willingness to travel; valid U.S. driver’s license.
Ideally, You’ll Also Have
Experience deploying data products in ESG reporting, operational efficiency, or safety compliance in industrial environments.
Familiarity with data mesh concepts and decentralized data ownership.
Certifications in Azure Data Engineer, Snowflake, Databricks, or related platforms.
Experience with Data Office Organization and IT Architecture.
Familiarity with Digital Fluency and Hybrid Collaboration techniques.
Strong emotional agility to navigate complex interpersonal dynamics.
