Overview
Our client, located in Nashville, is looking for a
Payroll Director
to join their team.
This is a direct hire opportunity, offering a hybrid schedule and a great opportunity to join a growing organization.
The ideal candidate will have experience with Ceridian Dayforce, international payroll, and experience leading a small team.
Duties
Direct and manage end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Oversee HRIS payroll data, including pay rate changes, job updates, deductions, and tax configurations.
Reconcile payroll accounts and prepare reports for accounting, finance, and management teams.
Serve as the primary liaison for payroll audits, tax filings, garnishments, and other regulatory submissions.
Maintain and update payroll policies, ensuring alignment with company standards and legislative changes.
Supervise and develop payroll staff, overseeing daily operations and performance management.
Manage relationships with payroll and benefits vendors, including system integrations, data feeds, and funding authorizations for retirement and health accounts.
Partner with Accounting and HR on payroll funding, journal entries, and general ledger reconciliation.
Ensure integrity of payroll systems, oversee internal controls and self-audit processes, and identify areas for process improvement.
Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and inclusion while upholding company values.
Requirements
Must have 10 years experience in payroll with at least 5 years as head of payroll with accounting experience
Must have international payroll experience
Ceridian Dayforce system experience required and must be proficient in MS Office Suite
Bachelor’s degree preferred
Must have strong knowledge of multi-state, multi-site Payroll laws, policies, and procedures
Excellent customer service skills
Title: Payroll Director
Location: Nashville, TN – hybrid schedule
Pay: $90k - $125k depending on experience
Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law in geographies that require salary range disclosure, Vaco/Highspring notes the salary range for the role is noted in this job posting. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company’s 401(k) retirement plan.
