JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Patient Care -
Provides outstanding clinical care. Recognized by peers and patients as a master clinician by continuously providing highly effective clinical care and incorporating novel, innovative, and state-of-the-art clinical practices. Involved in developing innovative approaches to patient care that are recognized internally and externally. Develops a regional/national reputation for outstanding clinical skills and patient outcomes. Assumes a broad clinical leadership role in the advancement of clinical patient care and improved outcomes. Develops care guidelines and treatment protocols for infant, children and adolescent patients to aid in their mental and physical growth and development. Examines patients to determine presence of disease and to establish preventive health practices. Determines the nature and extent of disease or injury, prescribes and administers medications and immunizations. Performs procedures, collects/analyze data and makes decisions regarding patient care, including initial screening, assessment, diagnosis, prognosis, care, reassessment and discontinuation of care. Formulates, maintains, supports, monitors and modifies a patient-specific plan for care, treatment and rehabilitation based on the patient\'s assessment. Plans and coordinates care, treatment and rehabilitation for discharged patients. Clinical Excellence -
Regularly invited to share clinical knowledge and skills at regional and national levels as a lecturer, presenting at national meetings and conferences, participating on service committees and as a reviewer for high-quality journals. Effective Communication -
Provide for the exchange of appropriate patient care and clinical information when patients are admitted, referred, transferred or discharged. Provide data which will contribute to the assessment of a patient\'s needs, the organization\'s capability to provide care or treatment and the appropriate level of care. Training and Education -
Recognized within the area or system for consistent contributions toward the development and improvement of training and education programs. Recognized as an exceptional educator and a role model at CCHMC in mentoring students and trainees. Makes innovative contributions to clinical education and training in the system. Leads the development and implementation of educational programs, curriculum, and teaching materials. Leads clinical rounds, medical lectures, grand rounds, and other conferences. Administrative -
Serves in a leadership role or significant administrative responsibility in a major department or institutional clinical program. Improvement Initiatives -
May choose to lead department/division/system health outcomes, health services and clinical improvement initiatives. May consistently play a local leadership role or participate in regional or national health care initiatives. Scholarly Activity -
Contributes toward the advancement of clinical knowledge through scholarly activity. Regularly a first or senior author on publications in peer-reviewed journals which contribute to the field. Publications may also include reviews, chapters or books. Publish and/or co-author findings and conclusions resulting from research in a timely fashion. Presents findings internally. JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Unrestricted licensed physician in the State of Ohio; Board certification in pediatrics Approval/credentialing from CCHMC Medical Staff Services Division 5+ years of experience at the Staff Physician Level 3 or equivalent external experience Previous experience in specialty area may be required based on the physician\'s assignment Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support AND CPR Primary Location
