SUMMARY As a Tax Senior Manager, you will be expected to enhance client relationships through communication & delivery of value added services. Tax Senior Managers will be expected to develop strong practice & development skills through various professional networking activities. You will be expected to demonstrate a positive attitude toward the Firm and act as a role model to others. Tax Senior Managers will be responsible for overall management of workflow within the tax department. EMPLOYMENT STATUS Exempt Full-time RESPONSIBILITIES Consistently demonstrate a sense of passion for our profession that is demonstrated by your enthusiasm and high-quality work. Maintain high level of technical competence to keep the firm safe from QC perspective. Demonstrate ability to provide value added solutions to clients. Exhibit the ability to manage overall client relationships through establishing high level owner/key employee relationships within the client organization. All of your clients should look to you as their primary service provider and have confidence in your professional competence. Maintain knowledge of general economic conditions, political trends and legislative initiatives for their effect on clients. Be willing to appropriately confront unethical or inappropriate behavior from clients and colleagues and seek the proper advice to handle the conflict. Effectively manage all employees through appropriate delegation and supervision. Consistently provide honest and timely coaching feedback to staff members regarding performance and career development. Such feedback can be in the form of formal evaluations, informal evaluations and mentoring. Strong understanding of U.S. tax laws as it relates to ownership of foreign entities by a U.S. person. Oversee and manage a significant volume of engagements. Consistently deliver quality finished products on time. Stay within budget and maintain high realization on each engagement. Consistently recognize and point out opportunities to increase engagement efficiency and effectiveness. Leverage other partners for their expertise and technical knowledge in serving clients. Demonstrate a strong commitment to your professional and ethical standards as a CPA. Use resources effectively to perform assignments and complex research. This includes researching issues and consulting with outside professionals and colleagues in the firm. Demonstrate a commitment to developing your talents, skills and business knowledge that results in personal growth and expansion of your knowledge base. Contribute to maintaining high morale in the office. Act as a team player and encourage teamwork on engagements. Demonstrate leadership skills in order to be viewed as a resource/mentor to firm employees. Be a resource in their career development. Demonstrate a desire to contribute to the firm by participating in one or more functional areas of office management, as appropriate and as identified by the partner group. Demonstrate that you have built beneficial relationships with other professionals such as bankers, attorneys, etc. Further demonstrate the ability to build upon existing referral networks. Direct involvement with delivery of proposals leading to acquisition of new clients or expanded tax planning services with existing clients. REQUIREMENTS SKILL REQUIREMENTS Outstanding organization and project management skills Ability to work independently and coordinating priorities with partners Team player and can collaborate with other individuals in the organization Highly motivated and takes initiative for professional growth and development Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Power Point, especially Excel) QuickBooks and ProSystems experience (or similar accounting/tax software equivalent) High level of interpersonal skills with demonstrated poise, tact, and diplomacy Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, with the ability to clearly communicate issues to all levels of management Positive attitude and excitement to learn Ability to travel to client locations, which may include occasional overnight stays Ability to work overtime, as needed Management skills including effective delegation of work through staff/seniors, reviewing work & providing timely feedback, involvement with scheduling / workflow procedures, and mentoring staff/seniors.
