Overview: The Director of Individual Giving will be responsible for building, enhancing, and creating pipelines for BAMPFA's individual donor program, including planned giving, annual giving, membership, and special events. They will lead the organization's individual giving efforts, set strategy, and execute fundraising plans to sustain and grow annual donors and gifts, and collaborate on the annual gala and donor engagement events. Responsibilities
Major Gift Fundraising:
actively manage a donor portfolio primarily at $10,000+; raise at least $1.5M per year; manage stewardship events; cultivate and steward donors; qualify prospects; brief executives; write solicitation letters and proposals; maintain communications with portfolio. Annual Fund & Membership:
develop and lead a cohesive donor pipeline; manage portfolio with high-touch engagement; oversee fundraising communications calendar; achieve goals; oversee Membership Manager and Membership Coordinator; liaison to membership groups; oversee planned giving; coordinate cross-department mailings and campaigns. Development Event Production:
lead donor cultivation events; liaison for the Art + Film Benefit; manage budgets; oversee print and online collateral and communications; develop production plans for events. Leadership & Support:
foster a positive, inclusive work environment; empower staff; mentor three development team members: Individual Giving Officer, Membership Manager, and Membership Coordinator. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Required:
6-7 years of progressive fundraising experience; supervisory experience; proficiency with Tessitura and/or fundraising CRM software; ability to analyze complex organizations and work effectively with peers; demonstrated ability to work with high-level donors; credibility, maturity, and sound judgment; excellent written and verbal communication and negotiation skills; bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience. Preferred:
experience with accruing, stewarding, and managing 6-7 figure gifts; interest in arts and/or higher education; master’s degree in arts administration, nonprofit management, or related field and/or equivalent experience. Salary & Benefits
