Oncology Medical Director | Medical Oncologist or Hematologist/Oncologist Sky Lakes Medical Center is seeking an experienced Medical Oncologist or Hematologist/Oncologist to join its team as an Oncology Medical Director in Klamath Falls, Oregon. This hybrid production and medical directorship role is ideal for candidates with leadership experience or at least 5 years of practice experience with some leadership involvement. This is an opportunity to lead an exceptional care-team and provide strategic oversight of an expanding oncology service line for the region.

Schedule

Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. schedule

8 hours of admin time per week

4-day work week or patient contact hours

Call (phone only) is 8 days a month

Role & Responsibilities

Coordinate and evaluate the quality, availability, safety and appropriateness of medical oncology services rendered at the Sky Lakes Cancer Treatment Center (CTC).

Participate in the development and implementation of quality assurance and utilization review programs and performance improvement activities.

Collaborate with the CTC Director and Sky Lakes Administration to review patient satisfaction, staffing levels, and operations.

Participate in the hiring process for CTC physicians, advanced practice providers, clinical staff, and support staff as requested.

Assist in orientation, education and in-service training of medical and non-medical personnel engaged in medical oncology services.

Collaborate with the Quality Management Department to ensure efficient and appropriate management of medical oncology cases.

Participate in the peer review process as requested by the Chair of the Department of Medicine or the Professional Practice Evaluation Committee (PPEC).

Facilitate a team-based medical care approach between CTC physicians, primary care providers, specialists, nursing, and other staff.

Represent medical oncology in advisory capacity to Sky Lakes Administration, Medical Staff, and Governing Board.

Chair the Sky Lakes Oncology Committee and attend other medical staff and administrative committee meetings as requested.

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation is $625,000 per year

Guaranteed salary plus $75,000 directorship pay

Up to $100,000 sign-on bonus

$4,000 and 5 days of annual CME

$1,000 annually for licenses and certifications

Sky Lakes is a non-profit that qualifies for Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF)

Qualifications & Requirements

Must be a board-certified and fellowship-trained Medical Oncologist or Hematologist/Oncologist (MD/DO).

Minimum of 5 years clinical experience post-fellowship with recognized clinical leadership.

Demonstrate ability to recruit outstanding physicians, mentor colleagues, and foster research.

Candidates with experience in utilization committees or leading a tumor board are highly desired.
