Working under the direction of the Nuclear Medicine Manager, Nuclear Medicine Supervisor, and Clinical Director of Nuclear Medicine, the Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMT) is responsible for performing all technical procedures within Nuclear Medicine as described in the DFCI Imaging Policy Manual. The NMT delivers safe and effective imaging procedures, participates in departmental education programs, and participates in organizational and departmental goals and QA/QI activities. The NMT works closely with imaging professionals, nursing, technical staff, providers, investigators, and staff to foster a culture of excellence and innovation toward cancer eradication and related diseases. This role is 100% onsite for 4x10 hour shifts per week. Located in Boston, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute is a leader in cancer research and patient care, committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Pay Transparency Statement The hiring range is based on market pay structures, with salaries determined by business needs, market conditions, internal equity, and the candidate’s experience, skills, and qualifications. For union positions, the pay range is determined by the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). $52.45/hr - $72.16/hr. EEOC Poster Primary Duties And Responsibilities
Adheres to established departmental policies and procedures; fosters communication and collaboration among clinical, technical, and support staff; ensures that business and patient information is handled according to HIPAA guidelines. Maintains patient, staff, and environmental safety; maintains infection control; ensures workplace cleanliness; demonstrates understanding of radiation safety issues and follows procedures to ensure patient safety. Ensures regulatory, accreditation, and institutional requirements are met; participates in QA/QI programs. Communicates information compassionately and professionally to patients; ensures patients understand procedures; assists with operational duties such as monitoring patient flow and using scheduling and EMR systems. Performs technical procedures (general nuclear medicine, PET/CT, radionuclide therapy) to obtain high-quality scans and care; conducts protocol duties for departmental research; establishes intravenous access; handles radiopharmaceuticals and imaging agents in accordance with regulatory standards; ensures imaging systems and equipment operate to accepted standards and perform required QC; manages imaging datasets and maintains records and reports. Participates in orientation and training of new technologist staff and assists in onboarding other staff. Performs other duties as directed. Minimum Qualifications
Graduate of a hospital-based and/or accredited nuclear medicine technology program. New graduates welcome; one to two years hospital-based experience preferred. Current certification and/or registration in Nuclear Medicine (e.g., ARRT, NMTCB). Current Massachusetts Radiologic Technologist License in Nuclear Medicine. Current certification and/or registration in Computed Tomography (e.g., ARRT, NMTCB) or must obtain within 1 year of hire; Massachusetts Radiologic Technologist License in Computed Tomography or must obtain within 1 year of hire. Current BLS certification or must obtain active BLS within 90 days of hire. Location and Schedule
