Professional Services Leader (Water Business Group) - (186865) At HDR, our employee-owners are engaged in creating a welcoming environment where everyone is valued and respected. We foster a culture of inclusion and consider how our work impacts the world. The NorCal Water Business Group (WBG) Professional Services Leader provides leadership and mentoring across the WBG. You’ll be part of the WBG leadership team and will be counted on to lead and guide staff to meet client needs and market drivers. Responsibilities
Develop, coordinate, monitor and improve technical competencies of WBG staff to meet client needs and market drivers (under the guidance of the Business Group Manager). Lead and monitor development and training of WBG staff in technical and business competencies. Lead and participate in quality assurance efforts to implement QA/QC program activities and strive for continuous improvement. Oversee and ensure implementation of quality, standards, and best practices. Oversee workload balancing and ensure qualified staffing of project teams. Supervise select Business Class leaders who report through the WBG. Collaborate with Market Sector and Business Class leads on workload projections and sharing with other Groups or Areas. Partner with Area Professional Services Manager and Business Class Leaders to oversee technical and digital delivery evolution with subject matter experts. Review hiring needs, requisitions and offers as delegated by the Business Group Manager and Business Development Manager; support area WBG activities related to hiring and retaining key staff. Participate with the NorCal WBG Leadership Team and monitor project QC review activities, including assignment of experienced reviewers. Lead and monitor continuous improvement efforts, including development and use of technical standards, procedures, best practices, and lessons learned. Lead and participate in 0% reviews and project reviews; support project teams with management of claims and losses. Lead the WBG participation in the NorCal Area mentoring initiative. Work with the WBG Manager and WBG PDL to streamline and coordinate business processes in line with Area and corporate policy. Review and approve fee proposals as delegated by the Business Group Manager; collaborate with Area operations, market sectors, business classes and delivery leaders. Participate in NorCal WBG strategic planning and plan implementation; support communication and coordination within all WBG market sectors. Perform other duties as needed. Preferred Qualifications
Maintains a professional license/certification and related technical experience. PMP certification. Demonstrated experience with leading diverse teams. Committed to quality, improvement, HDR values. Actively engaged in professional or industry associations to enhance HDR technical expertise and brand. Ability to work cooperatively with regional and local office managers, other area business group managers, technical directors, and marketing managers. *LI-MO1 Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a Professional, Architecture, Engineering or closely related field. A minimum of 10 years' experience. Maintains a professional or engineering registration and has related technical experience. Demonstrated experience with leading diverse teams. Committed to quality, improvement and HDR values. Actively engaged in professional or industry associations to enhance HDR technical expertise and brand. Ability to work cooperatively with regional and local office managers, other area business group directors, technical directors and marketing managers.
