The opportunity is for a seasoned Commodity Manager with a track record of success to manage Ferrous & Non-Ferrous Raw Materials & Mechanicals Supply Chain and deliver sustainable financials through a robust sourcing strategy, strategic supplier relationships, and strong operational acumen.
Responsibilities
Starting with the company’s existing business relationships with Global Metals SC Ecosystem, work with the SC & Operations leadership team to drive excellent business results through sound, innovative supply chain solutions, strategic supplier relationships, understanding of technology roadmap, commercial acumen, and problem-solving skills.
The scope of the job is global, spanning Sanmina’s Mechanical Mfg & Integration facilities in United States, Mexico & Europe.
Define & develop Commodity Sourcing Strategy for Ferrous & Non-Ferrous Raw Materials (Steel, Copper, Aluminum, Special Alloys) & Outsourced Services (OSP) like plating, painting, epoxy coating, etc.
Develop and manage executive-level engagement and relationships with existing strategic suppliers as per business needs, technology roadmap and footprint of operations.
Assess capability gaps in existing supply chains and identify & develop new suppliers to bridge those gaps.
Own supplier selection, commercials including pricing & business award (sourcing) through multiple stages of business engagement (RFQ, NPI & Mass Production) for new and existing customers.
Collaborate with quote and operations teams to provide guidance and direction as needed.
Ensure compliance of contracts & agreements (e.g., NDA, PA, VMI) with suppliers.
Conduct periodic business reviews with management of strategic suppliers to strengthen engagement, enhance cost competitiveness & drive favorable terms.
Periodically gather, develop and share procurement intelligence on market, supply, and pricing of raw materials with internal stakeholders.
Support internal stakeholders to resolve supplier escalations as needed.
Professional Experience And Qualities
Experience in EMS (Metals & Large Form Factor Mechanicals Assemblies & Structures), Metals Distribution Centres, ODM or Tier 1 Mechanicals manufacturing in North America with exposure to Data Center, Cloud & Communications, Semi-Con, Industrial, Defense & Aerospace, Automotive & Healthcare markets.
Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
Strategic thinking with strong tactical execution capability for routine activities and escalations.
Excellent skills in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
ERP exposure is a must; Oracle experience is a plus.
Educational And Industry Background
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineering, Material Science, or Industrial Engineering is essential.
15-20 years of experience in Commodity Management of Ferrous & Non-Ferrous Raw Materials & Mechanicals at regional (Americas) &/or global level.
Strong knowledge of metal manufacturing and working processes and ability to connect across the organization.
Customer-facing experience is an added advantage.
This is an ITAR facility and applicants must be a US Citizen or a lawful permanent resident.

Salary Range (annual): $130,000 - $150,000 . Actual base pay within this range will be determined by experience, education, certifications, and skills. The total rewards package includes health insurance, life and disability insurance, savings plan, company-paid holidays and PTO, and may include restricted stock units and discretionary bonus where applicable.
