Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and explain dental care treatment plans so they feel comfortable during the appointment
  • Provide postoperative instructions with methods for infection control of the patients’ teeth and gums after procedures, answer any questions they may have about dental hygiene, and schedule appointments for patient care follow up
  • Assist dentists and dental hygienists during any procedures or examinations by handing off dental instruments, providing suction, and ensuring chair-side accessibility to the team
  • Prepare and lay out sterilized equipment, dental instruments, anesthetics, dental supplies, and materials inside treatment rooms for examinations and dental procedures
  • Evaluate and document vital signs for patients and update medical records
  • Assist in placing and removing orthodontic appliances and taking full records under the supervision of the Orthodontist
  • Perform accurate and efficient procedures to maintain the schedule and patient flow
  • Review patient charts, log appropriate patient data, and transcribe doctor notes
  • Perform laboratory procedures under the supervision of an Orthodontist
  • Educate the patients on orthodontic care and remote monitoring
  • Clean, sterilize, and prepare the equipment and operatory following standard protocols
  • Assist in Local Store Marketing and community events
  • Adhere to all infection-control policies and protocols

Qualifications

  • Active BLS/CPR certification is required
  • An Associate’s Degree or a certification from a college or technical school training program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation is required
  • Must possess a Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) certificate or Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) state licensure by the Dental Assisting National Board's (DANB)
  • Computer skills and experience with dental software and updating patient histories is needed
  • Strong interpersonal skills, customer service, organization, and excellent communication skills are essential
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum one (1) year of previous Orthodontic experience
  • Dental Assistant certification if required by the state Dental Board
  • Radiography certification if required by the state Dental Board
  • CPR certification if required by the state Dental Board

Compensation: $19.80 - $23.10 hourly
