Overview

Position Summary

Maintains the electrical system and equipment throughout the plant. Installs upgrades, troubleshoots, and maintains electrical safety to machinery and building.

Responsibilities

  • Installation of high voltage equipment for power distribution.
  • Wiring of machine and support equipment.
  • Additions and upgrades to production machinery.
  • Troubleshoots machines and equipment.
  • Addition, repair and maintenance of the computer network system.
  • Calibrations and documentation of the computer network system.
  • Calibrations and documentation of equipment on machines and building.
  • Work with contractors on the maintenance and repair of electrical system.
  • Order parts for building, machines and plant lighting.
  • Complete MWO & PM cards as required.
  • On-call for 2nd and 3rd shifts if breakdowns or electrical problems occur.
  • Troubleshooting with customers on equipment out in the field.

Basic Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

Qualifications

  • College or University program certificate; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Extensive knowledge of electrical systems and wiring.
  • Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
  • Proficient in the use of test meters and other diagnostic equipment.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to see to discern -coded wiring.
  • Prolonged periods standing, kneeling, bending, and climbing ladders or scaffolding.
  • Must be physically capable of pulling wires and cables through conduits.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.

Working Conditions

  • Manufacturing environment.
  • Exposed to moving mechanical parts.
  • Hearing protection recommended.
  • Hair, beard nets and smocks required.
  • Exposure to odors associated with manufacturing.
