Location: The Village of Tanglewood, an Independent Living senior community

Pay Rate: $14.00/hr.

Schedule: Tuesday – Saturday 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.; Sunday 11:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. Must be available to work weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the dining room is spotless and beautifully set for all meals and events.
  • Greet residents and guests with a smile, ensuring everyone has a comfortable place to sit.
  • Take food orders, present them to kitchen staff, and deliver meals promptly and efficiently.
  • Guarantee the accuracy of orders and check food quality and presentation.
  • Respond swiftly to resident and guest requests, ensuring a top-notch dining experience.
  • Ensure drinks are poured and refilled in a timely manner.
  • Follow all food handling, safety, and sanitation standards meticulously.
  • Assist with setting tables, removing dirty dishes, disposing of waste, and restocking inventory.
  • Remove walkers from the dining room to ensure safety and return them after meals.
  • Make each resident and guest feel special, showing genuine pleasure in serving them.
  • Understand the menu fully and be able to explain selections to residents and guests.
  • Maintain high standards of appearance, cleanliness, and personal hygiene.
  • Attend required in-service training sessions.
  • Be an active member of the community’s emergency response team.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and comply with company policies.
  • Take on additional responsibilities with enthusiasm.

Qualifications

  • Must obtain an accredited food handler certification within 60 days, per State guidelines.
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • 6 months to 1 year of related experience preferred.
  • Excellent customer service attitude and ability to interact well with staff, residents, and guests.
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team to complete tasks.
