Overview
Our client is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join their growing operations team. This role offers the opportunity to lead meaningful process improvements across a dynamic production environment. Responsibilities
- Analyze and improve manufacturing processes using lean methodologies and statistical tools
- Review and redesign workspace layouts, equipment positioning, and labor flow for optimal efficiency
- Collaborate with engineering on product design and material use to enhance manufacturability and reduce waste
- Coordinate with procurement and vendors to select tools, equipment, and materials that meet quality and production standards
- Estimate production time, workforce needs, and cost impacts for management planning
- Drive root cause analysis of production issues and implement corrective actions
- Support pilot production runs and ensure smooth implementation of product or process changes
- Use CAD tools (SolidWorks preferred) for design evaluation and process planning
- Monitor and report on KPIs, supporting data-driven decision making
- Maintain records of equipment and tooling; submit requisitions for purchases as needed
- Comply with all company safety and quality procedures
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related technical field
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with structured problem-solving tools (8D, 5 Whys, A3)
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and statistical analysis
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Competency in Microsoft Office applications
Preferences
- Experience in sheet metal fabrication, assembly, or similar production processes
- Background working with ERP or production planning systems
- Proficient in 3D CAD (SolidWorks strongly preferred)
- Understanding of nesting programs and material utilization strategies
- Exposure to team-based problem solving and continuous improvement initiatives
