Overview

Our client is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join their growing operations team. This role offers the opportunity to lead meaningful process improvements across a dynamic production environment. Responsibilities

  • Analyze and improve manufacturing processes using lean methodologies and statistical tools
  • Review and redesign workspace layouts, equipment positioning, and labor flow for optimal efficiency
  • Collaborate with engineering on product design and material use to enhance manufacturability and reduce waste
  • Coordinate with procurement and vendors to select tools, equipment, and materials that meet quality and production standards
  • Estimate production time, workforce needs, and cost impacts for management planning
  • Drive root cause analysis of production issues and implement corrective actions
  • Support pilot production runs and ensure smooth implementation of product or process changes
  • Use CAD tools (SolidWorks preferred) for design evaluation and process planning
  • Monitor and report on KPIs, supporting data-driven decision making
  • Maintain records of equipment and tooling; submit requisitions for purchases as needed
  • Comply with all company safety and quality procedures

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related technical field
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with structured problem-solving tools (8D, 5 Whys, A3)
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and statistical analysis
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Competency in Microsoft Office applications

Preferences

  • Experience in sheet metal fabrication, assembly, or similar production processes
  • Background working with ERP or production planning systems
  • Proficient in 3D CAD (SolidWorks strongly preferred)
  • Understanding of nesting programs and material utilization strategies
  • Exposure to team-based problem solving and continuous improvement initiatives
