Position Overview

$2,000 Sign-On Bonus for eligible full-time and part-time new employees joining UW Medicine

UW Medical Center- Montlake– Waste Management Department has an outstanding opportunity for a Hospital Custodian.

Work Schedule

  • 100% FTE (40 hours per week)
  • Day shift

Position Highlights

  • Perform routine waste management duties, including checking and replacing all sharps and chemotherapy waste containers in soiled utility rooms and other areas as required.

Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Pick up and replace soiled linens, municipal, and regulated medical waste carts on the unit.
  • Handle regulated medical waste and process it in the sterilizer machine.
  • Collect recyclables, compostable materials, and process cardboard in a baler machine.
  • Follow instructions regarding chemicals, supplies, and equipment; comply with safety policies.
  • Report repair and maintenance needs.
  • May operate high-pressure washer.

Physical ability to perform the required work.
