Mon-Thu - 1st Shift (4:00am-2:30pm)

The Powered Industrial Vehicle (PIV) Operator is responsible for safely operating a forklift to support manufacturing operations by ensuring materials are properly loaded, unloaded, and moved throughout the facility. This role supports efficient workflow and organization within the warehouse while adhering to all safety protocols. The operator ensures production areas remain stocked and inventory is properly maintained to support operational needs.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate forklifts and other powered industrial vehicles to transport materials between workstations, storage areas, and loading docks.
- Load and unload materials to support production operations, ensuring accurate placement and movement throughout the facility.
- Supply workstations with necessary materials and remove finished goods to designated storage areas.
- Follow all workplace safety protocols, operate equipment properly, and adhere to OSHA regulations, including proper use of PPE and forklift safety standards.
- Maintain records of material movements, complete necessary paperwork, and communicate any discrepancies or damages.
- Conduct routine inspections and basic maintenance on forklifts and other material handling equipment to ensure operational efficiency.
Personal Attributes and Experience / Qualifications
- Able to obtain forklift certification upon hire.
- Minimum of 1 year of forklift operation in a manufacturing or warehouse setting preferred.
- Strong understanding of safe material handling procedures and workplace safety standards.
- Ability to interpret work instructions, material specifications, and staging instructions accurately.
- Strong organizational skills with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
- Effective verbal and written communication to coordinate with team members and supervisors.
Work Environment
- Exposure to a manufacturing environment with wood dust, noise, and moving equipment.
- Requires frequent lifting (up to 50 lbs.), bending, and prolonged standing throughout the shift.
- Must be adaptable to schedule changes and willing to assist in other areas of the facility as needed.
- Work closely with team members and supervisors to ensure production goals are met efficiently.
Compensation and Employment Details
Base pay range: $100.00/hr - $100.00/hr
