Position Description: Ryder is immediately hiring Permanent Full Time Material Handlers in Romeoville, Illinois.

Pay and Schedule

• Hourly Pay: $23.00 per hour
• Additional Pay: $3.00 per hour shift pay
• Schedule: Wednesday night 11:55 pm - 6:00 am, Thursday - Saturday 6:00 pm - 6:00 am

Responsibilities

• Perform warehouse functions, which may include loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and cycle counting
• Perform duties within performance measurement guidelines of the contract
• Responsible for accurate picking and packing, auditing, tote induction, staging of products, and loading/unloading of trucks
• Deal with day-to-day paperwork in a warehouse environment (e.g., picking sheets, returns, bills of lading)
• Provide technical and maintenance support for automated packing systems during core shift hours
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• One (1) year or more related warehouse and/or powered industrial truck experience preferred
• Valid Forklift Operator's License certified
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
• Ability to work within a diverse work environment; able to create and maintain professional relationships
• Highly thorough and dependable; punctual with good attendance
• Performs work independently with minimal supervision; demonstrates initiative and accuracy under pressure
• Ability to lift and/or push/pull up to 35 lbs; ability to stand for long periods; ability to work using health and safety methods
• Must be available to work on a flexible schedule on various shifts
• Detail oriented with excellent follow-up practices
