Overview
Due to growth, innovative compounding pharmacy is seeking skilled Director of Human Resources (HR) to join their leadership team. The Director of HR will be responsible for developing and implementing HR strategies, policies, and practices that support the organization’s mission, vision, and growth. This position will oversee all aspects of HR, including talent acquisition, employee relations, compliance, benefits administration, performance management, and training and development.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute HR strategies that align with company goals and support future growth.
- Partner with senior leadership to identify workforce needs and organizational development opportunities.
- Talent Acquisition & Retention
- Lead recruitment strategies to attract and retain high-performing pharmacy, clinical, and administrative talent.
- Design and implement onboarding and retention programs that enhance employee experience.
- Employee Relations & Engagement
- Build and maintain a positive, collaborative workplace culture.
- Advise management and employees on performance management, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution.
- Oversees all theater employee investigations, to ensure they are conducted in a timely, accurate, and complete manner, and that the corresponding outcomes are appropriately aligned with the investigation conclusion, Company policies and procedures, and established precedence.
- Develop employee engagement initiatives to improve satisfaction and reduce turnover.
- Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws, including HIPAA, OSHA, and pharmacy-related regulations.
- Oversee the maintenance of employee files and HR documentation.
- Stay current on regulatory changes and implement necessary policy updates.
- Monitors and ensures the organization's compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommends best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Compensation, Benefits & Payroll Oversight
- Administer and evaluate benefits programs to ensure competitive and cost-effective offerings.
- Collaborate with leadership to develop compensation structures that align with industry benchmarks.
- Training & Development
- Create and implement professional development programs for managers and employees.
- Identify skill gaps and establish targeted training to meet organizational needs.
- Conducts research and analysis of organizational trends including review of reports and metrics from the organization's human resource information system (HRIS) or talent management system.
- Culture & Organizational Development
- Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
- Act as a trusted advisor to leadership and employees, fostering a strong, healthy organizational culture.
- Administers and oversees the administration of human resource programs including: employee benefits and compensation, health and safety, leave entitlements, discrimination and harassment, confidentiality, and employee labor rights.
- HRIS Stack Development & People Analytics
- Lead design and optimization of the HR technology stack (HRIS, ATS, LMS, performance systems).
- Build and manage the HR hub via SharePoint or other platforms.
- Create Power BI dashboards to track key metrics — turnover, hiring, engagement, DEI, and training.
- Automate HR workflows and onboarding through Monday.com or similar platforms.
- Upskill HR team and leaders in analytics-driven decision-making.
- Integrate data across HR, Finance, and Operations for real-time workforce insights.
- Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required (Master’s preferred).
- 10+ years of progressive HR experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership or manager-level role.
- Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices; experience in healthcare or pharmacy preferred.
- Tech-savvy with knowledge of modern HRIS platforms (e.g., ADP Workforce, Workday).
- HR certifications such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a fast-paced, growth-focused environment.
