Overview
Wheat Ridge CO – corporate office. Position: HR Generalist. We are seeking a detail-oriented HR Generalist to manage comprehensive human resource processes for our contract operations. This role covers the complete employee lifecycle from onboarding through offboarding, including candidate screening, benefits administration, compliance reporting, and employee support. The ideal candidate will have strong operational HR experience, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a contract environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage all new hire candidate onboarding processes from start to finish
- Coordinate and conduct candidate background checks and drug screening
- Facilitate new hire orientations for all employees
- Process E-Verify for all newly hired employees
- Complete State new hire reporting processes for all new employees
- Maintain accurate and compliant new hire documentation
- Benefits Administration
- Interface with benefits broker on options, selection, and cost in preparation for changes each year
- Manage employee benefit enrollment and coordinate payroll processing of benefits in HRIS
- Process all new employee benefit elections with carriers
- Maintain employee enrollment and termination records with benefit carriers
- Coordinate payroll changes in HRIS for benefit adjustments
- Manage annual open enrollment for new calendar year benefits
- Process all benefit elections with carriers and coordinate payroll in HRIS for new calendar year
- Serve as point of contact for employee benefits questions and needs on an ongoing basis
- Coordinate 401(k) enrollment and audit payroll processing for employee plan enrollment
- Process employee 401(k) rollovers and distributions
- Complete and file annual Form 5500 reporting
- Maintain accurate 401(k) plan documentation and records
- COBRA Administration
- Process and administer all COBRA notifications and enrollments
- Maintain COBRA participant records and premium payments
- Ensure compliance with federal COBRA regulations
- Coordinate with benefit carriers on COBRA coverage
- Employee Relations & Support
- Serve as primary point of contact for employee HR questions and needs
- Provide ongoing support to employees during their employment
- Address employee concerns and escalate issues as appropriate
- Maintain positive employee relations and promote engagement
- Offboarding & Separations
- Manage offboarding processes for departing employees
- Coordinate with Contracts the return of equipment and badges
- Process employment verifications for current and former employees
- Ensure proper documentation and file maintenance for separated employees
- Compliance & Reporting
- Administer random drug screening programs
- Process and complete WSAP semi-annual reporting for contracts
- Process annual EEOC filings
- Process annual VETS filings
- Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local employment regulations
- Ensure accurate and timely submission of all required reports
- Client Relations & Contract Support
- Interact and communicate with client representatives as needed
- Respond to client inquiries regarding HR matters in a timely and professional manner
- Maintain positive working relationships with client stakeholders
- Record Keeping & Administration
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee files in compliance with retention requirements
- Ensure all documentation is properly filed and accessible for audits
- Update and maintain employee records in HRIS and other systems
- Generate reports and documentation as requested
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent experience
- 3-5 years of HR generalist experience with strong operational focus
- Proven experience with benefits administration and COBRA processing
- Knowledge of E-Verify and state new hire reporting requirements
- Familiarity with EEOC and VETS reporting requirements
- Strong understanding of employment laws and compliance regulations in multiple states
- Experience with HRIS systems
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- PHR or SHRM-CP certification
- Experience working in a contract staffing or government contract environment
- Background in WSAP reporting
- Experience with Form 5500 preparation and submission
- Knowledge of federal contractor compliance requirements
- Detail-oriented with strong follow-through

Salary & Benefits
Salary Range: $65,000 - $80,000 per year, commensurate with experience
The salary range reflects competitive compensation for the Wheat Ridge, Colorado market based on the candidate's qualifications, relevant experience, and demonstrated expertise in benefits administration, compliance reporting, and HR operations.
