Agility Partners is seeking a qualified Senior Application Support Engineer to fill an open position with one of our clients. This is an exciting opportunity to take a lead role in supporting real-time payments (RTP), BIN, and ACH/Wires applications on AWS. The Senior Application Support Engineer will oversee monitoring, debugging, and incident resolution while mentoring a small team and collaborating with development and DevOps groups. This role ensures uptime, compliance, and reliability of mission-critical banking systems. Responsibilities
Lead Level 2 support for Java Spring and Ruby on Rails web services, ensuring timely resolution of issues. Perform root cause analysis on recurring incidents and partner with engineering teams for long-term fixes. Enhance monitoring, alerting, and eventing solutions using Splunk, Dynatrace, CloudWatch, and APM tools. Act as the escalation point for critical issues and coordinate across teams for resolution. Collaborate with DevOps and development teams to improve deployments and application resilience. Mentor junior and offshore team members, driving operational excellence. Document troubleshooting guides, processes, and support best practices. Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation and incident response efforts. The Ideal Candidate
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Information Systems or equivalent work experience. 8+ years of experience in application support or related technical roles. Strong knowledge of banking operations and compliance requirements. Hands-on expertise with Java Spring Web Services, Ruby on Rails, and cloud-native applications. Proficiency in REST APIs, containerized services (Docker, ECS/Fargate), and sidecar service models. Experience with AWS services (Aurora, MQ, Lambda, CloudTrail, CloudWatch). Proficiency in SQL and database support, especially PostgreSQL. Strong experience with monitoring tools (Splunk, Dynatrace, Scout). Excellent communication skills across technical and business audiences. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Reasons to Love It
