The Role
AspenTech’s Digital Grid Management (DGM) platform, monarch, is a state-of-the-art energy management, optimization, and control software solution for energy utility companies worldwide. The monarch platform provides a distributed, highly available, real-time foundation for monarch applications. AspenTech is seeking individuals to join our growing Research & Development Organization as Associate Software Developers. In this role, you will write control software in various languages to deliver high-quality, effective products relied upon by our international critical infrastructure customers daily. Your Impact
Develop and enhance applications using Java, C#, C, C++, or Rust. Collaborate with global cross-functional teams to implement features aligned with business and user needs. Write clean, maintainable, and testable code; participate in design and code reviews. Find creative solutions to complex problems. Debug, troubleshoot, and optimize both front-end and back-end application performance. Maintain accurate documentation for codebases, workflows, and development practices. What You’ll Need
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Strong understanding of object-oriented programming in Java, C#, or C++. Experience with version control systems like Git. Knowledge of responsive design and mobile-first principles. Experience in agile environments; familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins is a plus. Knowledge of service-based architectures. AspenTech will only employ individuals legally authorized to work in the United States. Sponsorship is not available for this position. Candidates with visas such as E, F-1 (including OPT or CPT), H-1, H-2, L-1, B, J, or TN, or those needing sponsorship now or in the future, are ineligible. The salary range for this role is $70,700 - $88,400, which reflects our current good-faith estimate. Compensation may vary based on factors and could be adjusted in the future. The role is eligible for bonus or incentive pay. We also offer benefits including paid time off, charitable giveback day, insurance options, and retirement plans.
