Founded in 2018, Clear Street is a diversified financial services firm replacing the legacy infrastructure used across capital markets. We built a cloud-native clearing and custody system designed for today’s complex, global market, integrated with central clearing houses and exchanges to support billions in trading volume per day. Our platform emphasizes scalable data models, thoughtful APIs, and a best-in-class client experience. We combine product and engineering talent with seasoned finance professionals to compete in today’s fast-paced markets. The Role : As a Software Engineer, you will contribute to expanding our core Platform for Clearing & Settlements. You will participate in designing and building complex features and services, ensuring scalability and reliability across financial transaction processes. You will solve complex, systemic issues requiring strong system design and architecture knowledge. You will help shape engineering culture, refine technical standards, and promote best practices in software engineering. The Team : Our team consists of highly skilled engineers focused on advancing financial technology. You will collaborate on strategic directions and help ensure our platform meets institutional client expectations. Your contributions will influence our technology roadmap and the future of financial services tech. Requirements Technical Expertise: 5+ years designing, implementing, and scaling high-performance services. Our stack includes Golang; experience in Java, C++, or similar languages with a willingness to master Go is required. Complex Systems: Experience architecting and contributing to scalable, distributed systems handling large data volumes. System Design Participation: Ability to discuss design trade-offs with engineers and stakeholders. Technical Communication: Ability to explain complex concepts clearly to diverse audiences, fostering collaboration and consensus. End User Focus: Emphasis on API design, service functionality, and performance optimization. Technical Breadth: Understanding of design patterns, data structures, algorithms, and various tech stacks. Preferred Experience: Prior experience with Golang, gRPC, PostgreSQL, Kafka, Redis, Docker, Kubernetes is a plus; willingness to master these technologies.
