As a Landscape Architect at LJA Land Development, you will be responsible for preparing landscape, hardscape, layout plans, and details for various project types. A Typical Day Might Include

Prepare layout studies and yield studies for commercial/residential developments Prepare illustrative plans to support Rezoning and/or Special Exception applications Collaborate with design teams to develop detailed landscape and hardscape design elements for construction plans Conduct code research and write specifications Permitting experience is a plus Site design including grading for landscape and hardscape features Interpret applicable local, state, and federal landscape, forestry and environmental rules and regulations; research code-related issues and initiate corrective actions as needed Maintain records of plan review activities; prepare, submit, and file inspection reports, permits, and related documents Produce landscape architectural construction plans Apply standard techniques and criteria in related landscape architectural tasks Participate as a design/project team member in planning and designing structures and facilities (e.g., commercial site development, residential communities, permitting, grading/drainage, erosion and sediment control, stormwater, LID) Business development activities including networking, interviewing, and fee discussions Prepare development plans to support Rezoning and Entitlement applications, understanding technical policies Required Education / Certifications

Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture or Urban Planning Required Qualifications

2+ years of experience in landscape architecture and/or planning Strong freehand illustration and rendering skills Experience with AutoCAD, Land-FX, and Microsoft Office Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work in a team environment Project management experience or interest in managing projects Ability to prepare and manage drawing sets and presentation packages Positive attitude, team-oriented, strong work ethic Ability to manage multiple priorities Self-motivated with a sense of urgency to produce high-quality work Benefits and Growth
