Employees in this classification prepare programs by analyzing specifications developed by systems professionals; establish computer processing requirements; develop systems and/or programming flowcharts, code programs, and/or integrate and enhance Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) software solutions; test, debug, and correct errors in programs; prepare program and systems documentation; assist in resolution of computer systems problems; perform basic network configuration, scripting, network and implementation tasks; maintain configuration databases and related processing; write SQL queries and generate routine reports for RDBMS; and perform other related duties. Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with completion of 24 semester or 36 quarter units in information systems, computer engineering, or computer science; or Successful completion of a two-year IT program from an accredited college or trade school with at least 12 semester or 18 quarter units in IT coursework and two years of full-time paid experience performing systems or programming tasks in a professional IT environment.
