Overview
Assistant Mechanical Engineer - Aviation & Federal (Brea)
– The Assistant Mechanical Engineer will work under the supervision of a licensed professional engineer to assist project teams in creating world-class designs for new projects, alterations and redevelopments across a variety of facilities including power, process, corporate, healthcare, pipeline, airports, institutional, industrial, manufacturing, government and military facilities. The position involves working with the project team throughout the design and construction process, adapting mechanical plans based on budget constraints, design factors or client needs.
Responsibilities
Assist in the mechanical design of projects from conceptual phase through design completion.
Modify and review production drawings for projects across power plants, process facilities, industrial facilities, healthcare facilities, airports, educational institutions, commercial and governmental/military facilities.
Design mechanical components for project needs as assigned by project managers.
Apply basic knowledge of commonly used mechanical engineering concepts, principles, practices, codes, and procedures within the mechanical engineering services industry.
Research and compile project-related data as required by project managers.
Correct and update drawings provided by senior engineers to verify corrections across CAD software.
Assist with client presentations, shop drawing reviews, and contract administration for the design of various facilities including power, process, pipeline, industrial, healthcare, airports, educational institutions, commercial and governmental/military facilities.
Assist in performing field inspections, measurements or calculations for public and private clients.
Comply with all policies and standards.
Qualifications
Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related degree from an ABET-accredited program required, orBachelor Degree in Mechanical or related Engineering Technology from ABET-accredited program with successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
Prior internship and/or related consulting experience preferred.
Basic knowledge of standard mechanical engineering techniques, principles and procedures.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment with strong critical thinking skills.
Proficient computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite); basic CAD, BIM (Revit), 3D rendering, hydraulic and HVAC analysis software familiarity.
Strong attention to detail, facilitation, teamwork, organization and problem-solving skills; demonstrated leadership potential.
Engineers in Training (EIT) certification preferred.
Compensation $76,500.00 – $115,000.00 Yearly
The expected compensation range for this position is displayed in compliance with local/state regulations. The total annual compensation package includes base salary and potential participation in our discretionary year-end incentive bonus program.
