Overview
Microsoft 365 for Enterprise and Desktop Engineer We are seeking a highly skilled Microsoft 365 for Enterprise and Desktop Engineer to oversee the management, maintenance, and optimization of our Microsoft 365 environment while also handling desktop engineering and endpoint management. This role focuses on ensuring the security, compliance, and performance of cloud-based services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, Defender, and Purview, alongside administrative tasks in the Microsoft 365 Admin Center and Azure Entra. Additionally, the role involves creating, configuring, and troubleshooting Windows desktop deployments and endpoint devices using tools like Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Intune). The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment. This role reports to IT Manager in our corporate office (Sarasota, FL).
Primary Responsibilities
Microsoft 365 Administration (60%):
Manage and maintain the Microsoft 365 environment, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, Defender, and Purview.
Perform administrative tasks such as user account management, licensing, permissions, and security policy enforcement in the Microsoft 365 Admin Center and Azure Entra.
Monitor system health, troubleshoot issues, and ensure optimal performance of Microsoft 365 services.
Implement and manage security and compliance policies, including Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), Conditional Access, and Data Loss Prevention (DLP).
Oversee updates, migrations, and configurations to maintain a secure and efficient cloud environment.
Desktop Engineering (30%):
Create, configure, and troubleshoot Windows desktop deployments, applications, and endpoint devices.
Utilize Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Intune) for device management, ensuring seamless deployment and maintenance of endpoints.
Support endpoint security and compliance using Microsoft Defender and related tools.
Other Projects and Assignments (10%):
Contribute to additional IT projects, initiatives, or cross-functional assignments as needed.
Collaborate with team members to support organizational goals and improve system processes.
Required Skills And Qualifications
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in managing Microsoft 365 services (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, Defender, Purview).
Knowledge of Azure Active Directory (Azure Entra) for identity and access management.
Experience with PowerShell scripting for automation and configuration tasks.
Proficiency in Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Intune) for device and endpoint management.
Familiarity with Microsoft Defender and Purview for security and compliance.
Certifications (Preferred):
Microsoft 365 Certified: Administrator
Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate
Microsoft 365 Certified: Teams Administrator Associate
Microsoft Certified: Security Operations Analyst Associate
Microsoft Certified: Information Protection and Compliance Administrator
Soft Skills:
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a dynamic environment.
Experience
3+ years of experience in Microsoft 365 administration and desktop engineering.
Proven track record of managing cloud-based services, endpoint devices, and implementing security/compliance policies.
Experience with system migrations, updates, and troubleshooting in a Microsoft 365 environment.
Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee primarily works in an office environment but may occasionally be exposed to outside weather conditions when performing equipment setup, maintenance, or on-site troubleshooting. The employee may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes, or airborne particles when working in data centers or outdoor settings. The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate but may be loud in data centers or when working with equipment outdoors.
