Cyber Security Engineer - Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) - Senior
Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is seeking a
Cyber Security - Information Systems Security Officer ( ISSO)
in Dayton, OH or Hanscom AFB, MA. This role may travel up to 20% as required by the Government. The ISSO will manage security aspects of an information system and may be responsible for day-to-day security operations. This role includes physical and environmental protection, personnel security, incident handling, and security training and awareness. You will work with the ISSM and ISO to monitor the information system and its environment of operation, develop and update authorization documentation, implement configuration management across authorization boundaries, assess security impact of changes, and make recommendations to the ISSM. Responsibilities
Assist the ISSM in meeting duties and responsibilities Prepare, review, and update authorization packages Ensure procedures are in place for clearing, sanitizing, and destroying hardware and media Notify ISSM of changes that may affect the authorization determination Conduct periodic reviews of information systems to ensure compliance with the security authorization package Coordinate changes to hardware, software, or firmware with the ISSM and AO/DAO prior to the change Monitor system recovery processes to ensure security features and procedures are restored and functioning Ensure IS security documentation is current and accessible to authorized individuals Ensure audit records are collected, reviewed, and documented Attend required technical and security training relevant to assigned duties Execute the cyber security portion of self-inspection and provide security coordination/review of system assessment plans Identify cyber security vulnerabilities and assist with implementing countermeasures Prepare reports on the status of security safeguards Perform ISSO duties in support of in-house and external customers Conduct security impact analysis for configuration management changes to authorization boundaries Qualifications
5 years relevant experience required; 7+ years highly desired Demonstrated performance in roles such as System Administrator, Network Administrator, or ISSO Education
Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience (4-6 years) may be substituted for a Bachelor’s Degree Certifications
Must meet position and certification requirements outlined in DoD Directive 8140 for Information Assurance Manager Level II or Information Assurance Architect and Engineer Level I Clearance
Active Top-Secret clearance with SCI and SAP eligibility 2 years’ experience with Special Access Programs (SAP) Perks & Benefits
