Project Engineer, Highway
to join our Transportation team in Texas. This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring regular attendance at one of our Texas offices. We are accepting applicants from San Antonio, Houston, Austin, and Dallas – Fort Worth, TX.

What You Will Do What You Will Do at GFT:
Lead and manage the planning, preliminary design, and detailed design phases of roadway and highway infrastructure projects.
Prepare and review engineering drawings, sketches, and layouts using advanced civil design platforms.
Produce 2D and 3D engineering documentation using AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, and InRoads/OpenRoads as part of our ongoing digital transformation.
Ensure compliance with municipal, provincial, and federal engineering standards and regulations.
Write and contribute to technical documentation including design reports, feasibility studies, design criteria, and proposals.
Conduct and oversee site inspections and investigations to inform and validate design solutions.
Collaborate directly with clients, attend meetings, and provide technical guidance and insights.
Mentor junior team members and contribute to a supportive and innovative team environment.
Education | Experience
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a closely related discipline.
Professional Engineer (PE) in Texas
8+ years of progressive experience in highway design.
Proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D is REQUIRED.
MicroStation/OpenRoads experience is a plus.
Strong technical knowledge of civil engineering principles and the ability to apply them in practical design solutions.
Experience with engineering design and drawing production workflows for TXDOT transportation projects.
Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to direct work for Engineering Interns and Technicians
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively for yourself and your team
Compensation The salary range for this role is $124,900 to $149,900. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
