Overview

As a member of the Global Engineering and Construction Department, the Project Engineer is responsible for executing projects ranging from ~ $250k-$2M by planning, organizing, and controlling all elements of the project, from inception to plant start-up to ensure that all project requirements are met as laid out in the Project Expenditure Request (PER). To effectively serve in this capacity the Project Engineer will collaborate with JH engineering, EHS, and operations, as well as external equipment vendors and engineering partners. The PM is also responsible for regular reporting of project KPI’s including safety, scope, schedule, budget and forecasting. The Project Engineer is expected to be a safety leader and create a positive, proactive environment toward safe project execution. What You’ll Do

Collect project requirements and develop scope packages Complete capital request and front end loading processes, as required Prepare and issue RFPs to engineering consultants, equipment vendors, contractors and / or EPCs Develop / manage safety plans, scope, schedule, and budget for construction Conduct engineering reviews with consultants, vendors, contractors and plants Effectively conduct PHA’s, HAZOP’s and JSA’s for all processes and equipment Enforce Change Management rules Coordinate the creation and dissemination of major equipment specifications developed by SME’s to the procurement team Engage procurement to define and manage vendor deliverables Review and approve payment milestones and invoices Ensure that all equipment, valves, and instrumentation are procured based on specification and schedule Coordinate communication with key stakeholders throughout the project life-cycle Define and coordinate commissioning and start-up activities Identify and assist in coordinating solutions to operational problems after start-up Provide progress reports and financial updates on assigned projects Understand applicable construction codes and permitting requirements for the plant location, with assistance from engineering support staff Work with engineering/drafting to resolve field engineering design issues and constructability concerns 50+% domestic travel as demanded by project schedules What You’ll Bring

Bachelor of Science in Chemical, Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Minimum 5+ years’ experience in a project role with increasing responsibility Experience in Industrial Manufacturing Environment required Proficiency with MS Office applications and SmartSheet Strong oral and written communications skills Familiarity and experience with site construction management Plant and/or equipment layout experience to optimize operations and maintenance Ability to create and work in cross functional teams Encourage Voice of Operator input/Feedback to define functionality of equipment Preferred experience: Project Management Experience; Demonstrated Successful Execution including design and specification, purchase, installation, and startup of mechanical equipment Experience with complex machinery and mechanical equipment Experience with Utility and Process Piping Systems including pumps, valves, fittings and in line components, and pipe support systems; Experience with mechanical systems including Hydraulics, Pneumatics, High Pressure Water, Compressed Air, and Natural Gas What You’ll Receive
