Job Summary The Defense Systems Group (DSG) provides analysis-based decision support to senior leaders on space architectures, policy and strategy, developmental planning, system of systems engineering, and threat reduction to help shape future space missions across the national security space enterprise. Hybrid Cloud Engineer / Senior Hybrid Cloud Engineer
(Project Engineer / Senior Project Engineer, Cyber Security & Cloud Computing Architecture) on the Enterprise Mission Infrastructure and Platform (EMIP) team, you will provide matrixed technical and programmatic leadership and support across multiple Space Force program offices such as Battlefield Management Command, Control, Communications, and Space Intelligence (BMC3I), Operational Test and Training Infrastructure (OTTI), the Space Warfighting Analysis Center (SWAC), and others. This role provides critical cloud architecture, cyber security, and systems engineering support for our customers and users across all classification levels, including acquisition planning and execution support for current and future cloud environments. The EMIP Hybrid Cloud Engineer / Senior Cloud Engineer will apply technical expertise to ensure capability needs are translated and applied to acquisition and development efforts, promoting integration of pioneering technology and rapid acquisition efficiencies. The selected candidate will be required to work full-time, on-site at facilities in Colorado Springs, CO. What You'll Be Doing
Support the Enterprise Mission Infrastructure and Platform team\'s customers in developing cloud and ground architectures, roadmaps, technical capabilities, and products that support the needs of the warfighter Lead technology investigation initiatives, work with vendors, the government, other FFRDC organizations, and contractors to prototype, demonstrate and deliver cyber secure platform capabilities to warfighters at Space Force bases and other mission sites Engage with commercial technology leaders to discuss product and technology roadmaps and translate those into strategic opportunities for the National Security Space Ground Enterprise Work hands-on with customers and solutions providers to prototype, design, and demonstrate cloud computing architectures and services to support warfighters Demonstrate excellent social skills enabling effective communication with customers, colleagues, and senior management Lead innovation in key technologies for use in ground systems from the edge to the cloud; the EMIP group analyzes, tests, and demonstrates leading platform, cloud, and cyber security technologies and collaborates with vendors on demonstrations for the customer What You Need to be Successful
Minimum Requirements for Project Engineer, Cyber Security & Cloud Computing Architecture: Bachelor\'s degree in a STEM field or other relevant field is required A minimum of 6 years of progressively more responsible experience in architecture for software-intensive systems and cloud computing, preferably in the space system domain, is required Cloud-based platform experience (AWS, Oracle, Google, or Microsoft Azure) Willingness to travel domestically to support customer needs, approximately 10%–15% This position requires a current and active TS/SCI security clearance, with the ability to obtain Special Access (SAP); U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance In addition to the above, the Senior Project Engineer, Cyber Security & Cloud Computing Architecture requires the following: A minimum of 10 years of progressively more responsible experience in architecture for software-intensive systems and cloud computing, preferably in the space system domain Experience leading integrated, multidisciplinary, multi-organizational teams Experience developing ground system architectures Proven experience with senior-level customers and senior leadership How You Can Stand Out
