Job Description
We are looking for an IT Specialist to join our Information and Security Support Team. In this role, you will draw upon your technical abilities and inquisitive nature to identify, evaluate, and implement solutions to the businesses’ challenges. Additionally, the IT Specialist is involved in department planning, project management, systems integration, and oversight of critical business systems. This is an excellent career opportunity for a self-motivated, goal-oriented team player. While this is an unpaid volunteer role you will be able to gain new technical and professional skills, expand your network, and participate in meaningful projects.
Responsibilities
Provide support and maintenance of computer systems, cloud-based solutions, software, and mobile devices
Support the helpdesk by troubleshooting problems and providing resolutions
Provide support for Google Workspace, macOS, Windows, and other P4L systems
Execute the security and compliance strategies of the organization
Manage user accounts, groups, and permissions
Communicate and collaborate across all organizational departments and external resources
Monitor systems, safeguard user up-time, and perform daily security and compliance tasks
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
1-2 years’ experience within an IT Support Team or as IT Administrator
Good practical experience of managing IT systems and applications, troubleshooting and repairing issues
Working knowledge of Windows, Azure and Microsoft Office
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Strong organizational and coordination abilities with close attention to detail
Knowledge and understanding of Cybersecurity
Additional Information Estimated time commitment:
5-10 hours/week
depending on needs, including monthly meetings, weekly conference calls. Busiest time period: work is consistent throughout the school year. Term limit: 4-6 months (can be extended). Note - Unpaid Volunteer position
