The Staff Software Development Engineer - Full Stack will work closely with engineers to drive delivery excellence, partner with business and IT leaders to build digital assets, provide expert-level issue resolution and RCA, identify gaps in the current digital ecosystem, and propose solutions to enhance performance. This role collaborates with digital leaders, business partners, and IT colleagues to deliver growth and great customer experiences while ensuring efficient, effective, and safe product development. What We Expect Of You
Lead the design, development, and implementation of B2B applications using Java, J2EE, Spring Boot, Search, NoSQL (MongoDB/Cassandra) and/or Kafka Extensive front-end experience with Angular JS/React JS, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, etc. Develop and maintain scalable REST and GraphQL APIs Act as a technical owner across strategic efforts involving the Cloud, backend solutions, streaming, ML and more within Catalog Implement pub/sub messaging solutions using Kafka, ensuring reliable data flow between services Collaborate with product managers, architects, and other engineering teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions Participate in code reviews, mentor junior developers, and promote best practices in software development and testing Integrate cloud-based services into application architecture, ensuring performance and security of cloud-native applications Drive adoption of CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, building, and deployment to enhance and secure the software supply chain Analyze and resolve complex issues, identify root causes, and implement robust fixes Continuously optimize performance and scalability through code improvements, cloud service optimizations, and infrastructure as code Stay current with industry trends and proactively suggest improvements to the development process Partner with technical leaders within CVS and the open-source community to contribute to product strategy, framework, roadmap, and requirements gathering Promote reusability of APIs across clients with configurable options Promote engineering excellence to build reliable distributed systems Develop mindshare through collaboration and idea sharing Move features from prototype to production Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities Required Qualifications
7+ years of experience in systems analysis and application development (front end and back end) 7+ years in Java, Spring Boot, Search, NoSQL and/or Kafka 5+ years of experience in Agile software development 3+ years of Web application development using Angular JS/React, CSS, HTML, JavaScript and/or Node.js 3+ years of experience building enterprise solutions and managing client requirements and technical solutions 3+ years of experience with cloud computing technologies (GCP/Azure or similar) 2+ years of experience in a DevOps role with Kubernetes, ArgoCD, CircleCI, Git, Jenkins, Maven, JUnit, Docker, JMeter, Artifactory 2+ years of CI/CD pipeline automation Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Machine Learning and/or Artificial Intelligence (Vertex AI, Gen AI, GPT 3.5) Familiarity with GraphQL/gRPC Experience with Google Cloud Platform services (GCP) and Kubernetes (GKE) from a software development perspective Hands-on experience with Confluent Kafka or equivalent pub/sub systems Experience with Docker and Kubernetes for deploying and managing applications Education
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (HS diploma + 4 years relevant experience) Business Overview

The Typical Pay Range For This Role Is $106,605.00 - $260,590.00. This pay range represents the base rate for all positions in the job grade. Final offer depends on factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for CVS Health bonuses and equity awards. Benefits
