Overview
Hanson Consulting Group is seeking an experienced Backend Developer to join our team supporting our client on the Xbox Experiences & Platforms (XP) team! In this role, you will focus on maintaining, enhancing, and supporting API services. Responsibilities include managing KTLO (Keep the Lights On) and engineering excellence (EE) initiatives, addressing technical debt, and ensuring the stability and performance of backend services. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with C#/.NET frameworks and thrive in a dynamic environment where they will be updating and optimizing backend code, as well as maintaining unit tests.
Responsibilities
Perform ongoing maintenance (KTLO) and address engineering excellence (EE) issues for backend services, with a focus on package ingestion services.
Update, optimize, and refactor backend services code written in C# using .NET Core and .NET Framework.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement new features, bug fixes, and performance improvements.
Write, update, and maintain comprehensive unit tests to ensure the quality and reliability of backend services.
Provide on-call support for backend services, troubleshooting and resolving issues in a timely manner.
Work closely with DevOps to ensure efficient CI/CD pipelines and deployments.
Qualifications
The individual in this role must be a citizen of Costa Rica and willing to work Pacific Time hours and participate in the team's on-call rotation.
4+ years of experience with
C#
programming language, with an emphasis on building and maintaining backend services.
Expertise in
.NET Core
and
.NET Framework
service development.
Proficient in using
Git
for version control and collaboration.
Experience with backend
API service design , implementation, and optimization.
Strong understanding of best practices in software engineering, including design patterns, code refactoring, and unit testing.
Experience with service support and handling on-call duties for production systems.
Familiarity with modern frontend frameworks like
React
is a plus.
Experience working with cloud services (e.g.,
Azure ,
AWS ) is a plus.
Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools like Jira or Azure DevOps is a plus.
