As an experienced
Survivability Engineer , you will lead and/or support the Specialty Engineering team in one or more of the following areas: Applying electrical, electronics and physics theories to execute various tasks related to Survivability engineering field Ensuring that military space vehicle and missile designs, from the component level to the system level, will meet performance requirements during and after exposure to specified environments; these environments include natural space radiation Conducting technical planning, specification requirements derivation, modeling and analysis, design, test planning and execution, documentation, requirements verification/validation to support overall system needs and act as technical consultant for management and customers Working independently and interfacing with contacts outside of the immediate team, including customers Mentoring and leading peers and junior engineers across the Enterprise Survivability Engineering group Qualifications
Experience level: typically at least 9 years with a Bachelor’s degree, 7 years with a Master’s degree, or 4 years with a related PhD Basic Qualifications: Authority in Natural Space, Nuclear/Manmade Radiation Environments, or design hardness Experience in software tools required for modeling natural and man-made radiation environments Security Clearance / Work Authorization: U.S. Citizen to meet program/customer requirements Interim Secret clearance prior to starting employment Secret clearance for long-term employment on this program Desired Skills: Experience using electrical engineering simulation tools and software for performing electrical engineering and mathematical analyses (e.g., MATLAB, SPICE, PSPICE) Experience in circuit simulation and modeling for design, worst case analysis, nuclear survivability, electrical overstress, and failure analysis of electronic circuits Experience with electronic, electrical, electromechanical and electro-optical (EEEE) components Experience with radiation testing (e.g. TID, SEE, nDD, prompt dose rate) and test facilities (e.g. TAMU, Brookhaven, West Coast Facility, etc) Experience with Piece-part radiation testing and radiation effects on piece-parts performance and reliability Radiation software tools (e.g., PUFF-TFT, MCNP, CEPXS, NOVICE, Srim/Trim, Novice/Geant4, Creme96, Crememc, Shieldose, Spenvis, Omere, Ap8/Ae8, and Ap9/Ae9) Ability to lead multi-functional teams and coordinate work as one team with common goals Organized and able to effectively multi-task in a fast-paced environment Computer skills including Microsoft Office and SharePoint Advanced Degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Nuclear Engineering, or related engineering discipline (or equivalent) with approximately 9 years or more of professional experience Active TOP SECRET security clearance Security Clearance Statement:
