Position This Position reports to: Engineering Manager
B&R is seeking an Associate Application Engineer for the East Region of B&R US. The candidate will complete assignments on small projects or portions of larger projects in a cost-effective manner and in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.
The work model for the role is: #LI-Hybrid in either our Alpharetta, GA or Woburn, MA offices.
Your Role and Responsibilities
Begin as a trainee within B&R trainee program to learn what B&R has to offer in both hardware and software solutions.
Evaluate, select, and apply standard control techniques and procedures to perform engineering assignments.
Collaborate with other application engineers to design automation systems
Development and testing of automation software
Installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of automation systems
Creation of technical sales demonstrations
Develop documentation and user manuals for automation systems
Participate in project meetings and provide regular updates on project progress
Participate in product inventories and managing department equipment
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards
Assist with other engineering team duties as assigned

Qualifications for the Role
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics or similar) required
Familiarity with programming and coding IDEs such as Visual Basic or Visual Studio
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Proficiency in programming languages like Python, Java, Structured Text, Ladder, C, C++
Strong communication and teamwork skills; ability to take initiative independently and to work on a team
Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies
Availability to work outside of standard business hours for system installation and/or support and up to 25% domestic travel, largely within the region.
Preferred: knowledge of PC or PLC programming, familiarity with robotic systems and real-time operating systems, understanding of electrical/mechanical systems and familiarity with Jira
Candidate must possess work authorization to work permanently in the United States without sponsorship

While base salary is determined by things such as the successful applicant's qualifications and experience, this position is expected to pay between $51,100 and $81,760 annually.
