Maneva
About Maneva
Maneva, a startup founded by an ex-Google Deepmind researcher, is an AI service provider revolutionizing manufacturing operations with cutting-edge AI solutions for autonomous factory operation and optimization. Our solution generates AI-powered actions and insights using off-the-shelf hardware or existing vision systems for real-impact manufacturing problems in products and equipment inspection, production efficiency, safety, and more. What You'll Do
As a Project Engineer at Maneva, you'll be the driving force behind transforming cutting-edge AI into real-world impact. You will design, install, and integrate machine vision systems from the ground up — enabling manufacturers to identify defects and optimize operations using Maneva's technology. From vision setup to PLC integration, from wiring to network configuration, you will make our AI come alive on the line. This role blends deep technical execution, customer interaction, and project leadership. You'll travel to manufacturing sites, embed yourself into operations, and own full-cycle deployments that span electrical, mechanical, software, and networking scopes. Travel:
Up to 50% (35%+ in territory, 15%+ out-of-territory), including travel across North America Requirements
Key Responsibilities
Take project ownership, architect and execute full-scale customer projects from design proposal through implementation, facilitating smooth customer transitions and supporting post-deployment operations Design and orchestrate AI vision system implementations by analyzing application requirements and generate hardware BOM for camera, lens, lighting, and compute component sourcing Communicate regularly with customers and internal stakeholders - onsite directly in person and remotely throughout the project life cycle Design and integrate AI vision systems with PLCs and existing industrial automation infrastructure, considering the physical operation of the overall application in a manufacturing environment Navigate onsite networking and deploy software applications on Linux-based edge devices Design signal integration and wiring for communication with sensors, I/O, and control systems Support plant walk-throughs and site assessments to identify high-impact AI use cases in the pre-sales process Provide onsite support and coordination for data collection in live production environments for training vision models Troubleshoot on-site hardware and software issues and iterate on deployments rapidly based on real-world results Deliver hands-on training to plant operators and managers Document deployment configurations, learnings, and system performance for internal use and customer value stories Must-Haves
Degree in Electromechanical, Systems Design, Industrial Engineering or related field, or equivalent technical industry experience Prior experience in industrial automation, machine vision, robotics, automotive, or related field Proven ability to manage projects in both project owner and individual contributor capacities with direct external customer engagement Experience with electrical wiring design, mechanical design, and system integration Ability to work independently in the field and manage complex deployments Excellent communication and project coordination skills Nice-to-Haves
Experience in image processing, video streaming, and/or real-time AI inference pipelines Experience with Linux software development using Python, Docker, Git, on edge devices (Jetson series) Experience with industrial camera and image transport protocols (e.g., GenICam) Experience with PLC integration (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profinet) and control systems Experience with networking Experience with IoT deployment and fleet management Exposure to AI/ML workflows and working with data curation and annotated datasets Experience in food & beverage, CPG, or packaging environments Experience in startup environments or cross-functional hardware/software product teams Benefits
Work with cutting-edge Vision AI and IoT solutions that power autonomous manufacturing, robotics, and industrial automation Opportunity to lead in a fast-growing AI company driving real-world impact in industrial AI adoption Travel opportunities to industrial sites, tech conferences, and research labs Collaborate with world-class engineers and AI experts in a dynamic, innovation-driven environment Privacy Notice
