Overview

IT Business Analyst (Hybrid) role at Holland & Knight LLP. This position is based in the Firm's global operations center in Tampa, FL. The Business Analyst (BA) will be responsible for understanding business problems, eliciting and analyzing requirements, assisting in business case development, performing research, and evaluating and proposing solutions while collaborating with technical and business teams; both within and outside the context of IT projects. The BA will contribute to testing, training, change management, and other activities. A successful BA will ensure that the expected value of an effort is realized to the benefit of the stakeholders and the firm. The position is currently a hybrid role with specific days required to be in the office, which may change based on the future needs of the Firm or industry standards.

Responsibilities

Work with technology teams, stakeholders, end users, leadership, and outside experts to identify, evaluate, and design technical and non-technical solutions

Gather, document, and prioritize business requirements, assist in developing application design specifications, and develop and execute test plans

Facilitate and manage business requests; setting proper stakeholder and user expectations

Work with IT subject matter experts to document business application specifications and assess options, risks, and costs

Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as superior listening, critical thinking, problem-solving and probing skills

Build strong relationships with project stakeholders and serve as a communications hub among business clients, project stakeholders, and the defined solutions team

Assist project stakeholders in communication, training, or change management

Organize, coordinate, and manage work efforts and/or projects

Use tools for eliciting requirements: brainstorming/mindmapping, focus groups/interviews, end user observation, process/task analysis

Collaborate with team members and other resources to establish creative and effective solutions to business problems

Analyze and design business processes and workflows

Collaborate with BA teammates, Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO), and others to establish consistent and efficient work processes including standardizing templates for BA deliverables

Occasional travel to other offices

Additional duties may be assigned

Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years of business analysis experience

In-depth knowledge of the legal industry and software applications including but not limited to iManage Desksite and FileSite, Microsoft Office suite, WorkShare, and SharePoint

Proven communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills

Ability to understand customer needs and expectations, provide excellent client service in direct and indirect manner, and fulfill customer expectations

Ability to understand and develop complex business processes and map workflows

Ability to understand and develop data flow diagrams

Ability to interface with personnel at all levels within the firm and to work effectively in a culturally and educationally diverse environment

Experience working directly with end users, vendors, and technical team members

Experience working in geographically diverse (virtual) teams

Detail oriented, analytical and inquisitive

Ability to be self-critical, to offer constructive feedback to and accept direct feedback from others

Ability to adapt to a changing environment

Ability to maintain confidentiality

Ability to work both independently or collaboratively, producing all assigned work while adhering to deliverables and deadlines

Ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives or activities, and effectively make judgments in prioritizing and time allocation in a high-pressure environment

Familiarity with BABOK recommended; IIBA or related certifications preferred

Knowledge of Six Sigma, Lean, UML and/or similar methodologies and tools preferred

Minimum Education

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
