Responsibilities
Constructs, finishes, installs, maintains and repairs electrical and mechanical systems or related facilities equipment using power and hand tools and other necessary equipment. Maintains and repairs HVAC, electrical and mechanical building systems, sterilizers, sprinkler and standpipe systems, transport systems, electronic signaling systems, and fire alarm systems as needed and with appropriate training/certification. Leads a group of workers on a project and teaches maintenance skills to other department members. Updates work statuses, timing, and costs of repairs using company tech systems. Oversees fleet maintenance support including welding, plumbing, electrical, and general maintenance; drives vehicles as required; provides on-campus fleet troubleshooting and generator fixes. Reviews work by outside vendors and non-licensed maintenance workers; creates punch lists and determines manpower, material needs, and deadlines for jobs or projects. Reads blueprints, specifications and models to plan work layout; performs routine computations and maintains logs and inspections. Responds to emergency problems and performs emergency repairs as needed; participates in the facility's emergency response team. Makes recommendations for modification or improvement of preventive maintenance systems; performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Five years of experience as a maintenance technician in an institutional setting in an engineering or maintenance discipline. Journeyman license in a relevant trade or equivalent certification (e.g., Journeyman Electrical License; EPA certification in Refrigerant; Journeyman Plumber; Carpentry; Welding; Steam and Pipefitting; Masonry; Electronic Instrumentation). Valid driver’s license. Ability to read and understand blueprints, specifications, and models to learn work layout. Benefits and About Eurest
