Overview
Calix provides the cloud, software platforms, systems and services required for communications service providers to simplify their businesses, excite their subscribers and grow their value. This is a remote based position in the US. We, the Cloud Platform Engineering team at Calix, are responsible for the Platforms, Tools, and CI/CD pipelines at Calix. Our mission is to enable Calix engineers to accelerate the delivery of world-class products while ensuring high availability. Responsibilities
Design, implement, and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, Terragrunt. Design and implement solutions in container orchestration with Kubernetes (k8s). Provisioning, implementing and supporting GCP technology stack services including Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, Kubernetes Engine, Cloud Functions, and more. Collaborate with development and operations teams to establish best practices for CI/CD and GitOps workflows. Build and enhance automation frameworks to streamline cloud operations and improve efficiency. Monitor and optimize cloud infrastructure for performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cloud infrastructure, deployments, and automation. Stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies in cloud computing, IaC, and GitOps. Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 7+ years of experience in cloud engineering, with a strong focus on IaC and Kubernetes engine. Deep understanding of Google Cloud Platform. Experience with CI/CD tools and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform/TerraGrunt. Hands-on experience with automation frameworks and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash). Strong knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes). Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications
Experience with multi-cloud environments and hybrid cloud solutions. Knowledge of security best practices in cloud infrastructure and automation. Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack). GCP certifications are a plus. The base pay range for this position varies based on the geographic location. More information about the pay range specific to candidate location and other factors will be shared during the recruitment process. Individual pay is determined based on location of residence and multiple factors, including job-related knowledge, skills and experience. San Francisco Bay Area:
156,400 - 265,700 USD Annual All Other US Locations:
