Manager, Assurance Services – Financial Institutions RubinBrown LLP is a leading accounting and professional consulting firm with a Financial Institutions Industry Group that provides assurance, tax, and consulting services for banks and related entities. The Manager, Assurance Services – Financial Institutions oversees audits and attest services for financial institution clients, manages client relationships, and develops staff within the industry. Major Responsibilities

Lead industry-specific audit engagements for financial institution clients across asset ranges from $200 million to $4 billion. Plan, manage, and oversee engagements to ensure timely delivery, adherence to budget, and compliance with professional standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., FDICIA, PCAOB). Provide specialized technical guidance on complex issues including allowance for credit losses (CECL), loan and deposit accounting, investment securities, derivatives, fair value, and other reporting and compliance matters specific to financial institutions. Evaluate and strengthen internal controls across lending, deposit operations, investment activities, information technology, and regulatory compliance; recommend improvements to mitigate risk and enhance efficiency. Review and analyze key financial statements, workpapers, and disclosures for accuracy and alignment with U.S. GAAP, regulatory reporting requirements (e.g., Call Reports), and RubinBrown quality expectations. Manage engagement budgets and timelines; monitor progress and ensure teams meet productivity and quality benchmarks while maintaining profitability. Build and maintain strong client relationships; serve as a primary point of contact for client leadership and deliver insights supporting risk management, regulatory compliance, and strategic decision-making. Mentor and develop staff in industry best practices; train and coach team members in technical assurance skills and industry knowledge to promote professional growth and engagement. Support strategic growth of the Financial Institutions Industry Group by identifying cross-service opportunities and assisting in expanding client base and services offered (e.g., risk advisory, IT audit, regulatory compliance, tax planning, M&A advisory). Qualifications

Active CPA license. Minimum 5 years of progressive public accounting experience with significant focus in the financial institutions industry. Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, AICPA auditing standards, and regulatory reporting requirements applicable to financial institutions (e.g., Call Reports, FDICIA, PCAOB). Proficiency in financial institution-specific accounting areas including CECL, loan and deposit accounting, investment securities, and fair value measurements. Experience with internal controls and processes over lending, deposits, investment activities, interest rate risk, and regulatory compliance. Knowledge of asset/liability management, credit risk, liquidity management, and capital adequacy within financial institutions. Ability to work closely with partners on complex transactions and advisory services; demonstrated ability to manage engagement teams, mentor staff, and lead multiple projects. Strong client relationship skills, ability to present findings to executives and audit committees, and provide actionable recommendations. Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to translate complex accounting issues into clear business-focused advice. Proficiency with audit software and Microsoft Office. Ability to identify cross-service opportunities and contribute to firm growth initiatives. Working Conditions

The work environment includes standard office hours with potential extended hours based on workload and client expectations. Travel may be up to 75%. Ability to sit for long periods and to stand, stoop, kneel, crawl, and move throughout office or client sites. Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 30–50 pounds.
