Position Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Cloud Infrastructure Architect (SME III) to support our government customers multi-cloud operations. This role provides senior-level engineering and architectural expertise across multiple cloud service providers (CSPs) such as AWS, Azure, and GCP, focusing on infrastructure-as-code, automation, security posture alignment, and optimization of cross-cloud services. The role supports the Technical Operations Center (TOC)s multi-cloud support including the modernization and management of infrastructure systems across a hybrid/multi-cloud environment. The candidate must be capable of strategic advisory, hands-on technical implementation, and supporting integration across enterprise platforms in a secure, regulated environment. This role requires onsite reporting in Memphis, TN for system evaluations, high-impact deployments, or stakeholder engagement. Key Responsibilities
Serve as the technical authority for multi-cloud architecture, integration, and operations supporting mission-critical environments Design and optimize scalable cloud-based systems using native services across CSPs (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.) Implement best practices for cost optimization, resource allocation, and security compliance within a hybrid cloud ecosystem Develop infrastructure-as-code (IaC) solutions using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Bicep Work with Cybersecurity teams to ensure FedRAMP/IRS compliance and enforce zero-trust and policy-based access control across environments Support container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes, AKS, EKS), serverless functions, and CI/CD pipelines Provide tier-3 support and engineering advisory during incident response or optimization sprints Create documentation, diagrams, and operational hand-offs for sustainable cloud operations Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; equivalent experience considered 10+ years of IT experience, including 5+ years in a multi-cloud engineering or architecture role Expert-level knowledge of cloud infrastructure services (compute, storage, networking, identity, monitoring) Hands-on expertise with IaC tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM templates) Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps Experience with cloud-native security tools (e.g., AWS GuardDuty, Azure Defender) Strong understanding of IRS, FedRAMP, or FISMA compliance requirements is a plus Clearance: Must be able to obtain/maintain Agency Level MBI (Moderate Risk Background Investigation)
