Overview
The North Carolina Department of Transportation is embarking on a Data Migration Journey specifically for the Dept. of Motor Vehicles. The agency has over 30 years of data and will begin scaling their teams in order to prepare that data and begin a migration to Azure. The Lead Data Architect/Engineer role will aid in the development of a new cloud environment by assisting the DMV Modernization Team with the design, management, and maintenance of data flow as it pertains to cloud technology. This role is responsible for data analysis, data profiling, data cleansing, data governance, in preparation for data conversion of the existing environment. The ideal candidate will develop & maintain cloud data strategy, evaluate data elements and structure, and ensure the smooth integration of data internal and external to cloud initiatives. The position will direct a small team of two database programmers to complete the data analysis and will assist in a leadership role including execution of cloud design and implementation strategies, evaluation and selection of appropriate data frameworks, establishing standards and best practices for data conversion, data mapping, data cleansing, and data migration as it evolves from legacy to cloud-based technologies. It will involve design of system integration containing database permissions, keys, and access for authorized data usage and reporting, and instruction of infrastructure movement techniques and data transfers using multiple ETL/ELT sources. The role includes responding to technical issues timely and effectively and leading and coordinating database programmers, application teams, security, and infrastructure teams to monitor cloud privacy, performance, and load. The position also captures lessons learned to assist the Leadership Team in mentoring future DIT leaders and technical staff. Responsibilities

Experience Level : Expert Level Pay and Benefits : The pay range for this position is $85.00 - $85.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on job classification and length of employment.
