Full Stack Engineer

Founded in 2014 in Brooklyn, NY, Underdog.io is a modern recruiting platform. One of our YC funded hiring partners is looking to hire a Full Stack Engineer to join their team in Downtown Brooklyn. They’ve recently raised a $85M Series A and work with some of the largest hardware companies in the world. As a Full Stack Engineer, you’ll play a key role in designing, building, and scaling our web applications. You’ll work closely with our product, design, and engineering teams to create seamless, user-friendly experiences and robust backend systems. What You’ll Do: Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance web applications using React for the frontend and Node.js for the backend. Collaborate with product managers and designers to translate requirements into technical solutions. Build and optimize APIs, databases, and backend services to support our growing user base. Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code. Troubleshoot and debug issues across the stack, ensuring a smooth user experience. Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and technical planning. Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and best practices to continuously improve our tech stack. Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of learning and collaboration. What We’re Looking For: 4+ years of professional experience as a Full Stack Engineer. Strong proficiency in React and Node.js, with a proven track record of building and shipping production-ready applications. Experience with modern frontend technologies (e.g., Redux, Webpack, TypeScript) and backend frameworks (e.g., Express, NestJS). Solid understanding of database systems (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB) and experience designing efficient data models. Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP) and containerization tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes). Experience with RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and microservices architecture. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
