Civil Project Engineer

performs complex calculations and comprehensive design services for civil engineering and site development projects independently. The role requires a strong work ethic, willingness to learn and teach, good judgment, organizational and communication skills, and proficiency in drafting and AutoCAD Civil 3D. Responsibilities include site visits, client and agency coordination, preparing construction documents, estimating costs, and mentoring others. Collaboration and receptiveness to feedback are essential. Job Responsibilities and Duties To succeed, candidates must perform essential duties satisfactorily, including: Using software like Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Project) - Advanced Applying technical fundamentals and providing solutions to complex challenges Leading and mentoring team members Producing and reviewing design documents: site layout, grading, utility plans, street profiles, permits, construction plans, traffic control, erosion control, quantity takeoffs, specifications, reports, storm calculations, ADA designs, offsite improvements, permit applications, construction details, and services during construction Managing project budgets and schedules, predicting and delivering tasks on time and within scope Interpreting and applying design codes, mentoring others in their use Communicating regularly with clients, leading project meetings, and understanding legal and messaging considerations Performing other duties as assigned Level of Work/Accountability Performs advanced technical tasks independently, reviews others' work, mentors team members, and may provide project management services. Supervisory Duties May oversee team operations, organize workflow, recruit, train, evaluate performance, and handle personnel decisions following company policies. Education and Experience Bachelor's Degree required Minimum 10 years of experience, or 9 years with an advanced degree Certificates, Licenses, Registrations PE license required Valid driver’s license with a good record Physical Demands and Work Environment Regularly sit, talk, hear, stand, walk, use hands; occasionally lift/move up to 25 pounds; vision and focus required; moderate noise level.
