Principal Architect, Digital, AI & Application Development Summary/Overview: A Presidio Digital Principal Architect for Application Development and AI leads the presales discovery, analysis, architectures, designs, and proposals of relevant solutions that map to customer outcomes and requirements through direct consultative client engagement. A Principal Architect effectively leverages presales methodologies, technical acumen, key relationships (clients, internal Presidio stakeholders and vendor partners), and context analysis (Industry, Customer, Technical, Sales) to position and recommend solutions that deliver long-term value. Responsibilities
Drive Digital Services Sales . In partnership with sales teams, co-develop and lead the technical sales strategy to exceed revenue objectives through the adoption of Presidio Digital services for application modernization and application development leveraging artificial intelligence (AI). Understand Customer Current State . Proactively drive discovery and understanding of customer IT current state, goals, outcomes, and initiatives across Business, Technical, Operational, and Financial facets. Develop discovery approaches, lead workshops, and document customer current state to assist customer and sales teams in targeting future state architectures and roadmaps. Technical Opportunity Leadership . Lead opportunities in application modernization, development, and AI to achieve technical win of Presidio services solutions. Identify customer stakeholders and their success criteria; create and lead technical solution approaches and next steps aligned to stakeholders, including demos. Validate and align technical resources as needed. Engage at Manager/VP/Director level with clients. Practice Delivery Engagement . Act as a liaison between customers, sales, and delivery resources to ensure customer success. Collaborate with delivery engineering to drive quality and viable solution approaches and staffing for proposals. Solution Architecture, Design and Documentation . Analyze client requirements and determine target services approach, solutions, and roadmaps. Create and deliver compelling technical proposals, including drawings, diagrams, and analysis. Technical Excellence & Evangelism . Maintain a high level of technical excellence across multiple solution areas. Lead the delivery of relevant technical knowledge, presentations, and conversations at client and event levels. Participate in technical champion programs and communities. Pursue relevant certifications when appropriate. Learn, discuss, and present new topics. Account Leadership . Participate in account-related activities that establish the Architect as a trusted advisor, such as account planning and executive briefings. Team Engagement & Culture Enablement . Engage Presidio team members, participate in team activities, and contribute to collaboration tools to foster an open, inclusive, and resilient culture aligned to Presidio values: Excellence, Forward-Thinking, Accountability, One Presidio. Partner Relationships . Develop relationships with vendor partners and peers, prioritizing hyperscale cloud solutions (AWS, GCP, Azure). Contribute to partner GTM strategies. Continuous Improvement & Innovation . Plan and execute growth and career development activities. Seek improvements to presales processes and GTM. Enable Others . Support sales and presales by developing GTM enablement on relevant topics and solutions; mentor and enable others. Required Skills and Professional Experience
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and/or military experience Overall 10+ years of relevant experience 7+ years of application development & modernization, including design, implementation, and support of enterprise applications 5+ years developer experience with Java, .NET (C#, VB), JavaScript frameworks (e.g., Node.js, React), or similar 5+ years practitioner-level experience with application development and deployment on AWS, Azure, and/or GCP 2+ years practitioner-level experience with AI or GenAI solutions, including low-code/no-code Consultative presales experience: curiosity and creativity Experience in SDLC, CI/CD, DevOps practices and tools Experience delivering modern architectures such as microservices, event-driven architectures, and cloud-native frameworks Comfort delivering presentations, live demos, and interactive whiteboarding with varied stakeholders Growth mindset with willingness to mentor and be mentored Collaborative style with diverse stakeholders Strong time management and ability to set expectations Ability to provide timely feedback to leadership Experience creating or contributing to SOWs, RFP responses, and pricing models Preferred Skills and Professional Experience
Knowledge of MCP and AI agent-based architectures Knowledge of Machine Learning solutions and/or MLOps Cloud Vendor Professional Certification (AWS Solutions Architect Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Google Cloud Architect) Familiarity with Agile frameworks (Scaled Agile, Kanban, Scrum), enterprise architecture (Zachman, TOGAF), and IT service management (ITIL) Industry-specific experience (healthcare, financial, manufacturing, public sector, media, or entertainment) Your future at Presidio
