Overview
SCI is looking for a CNC Programmer/Machinist to support our new product design engineering team for rapid prototyping and product development. This role includes using CAM software to generate machine code and fabricating components for our development programs using our 5-axis CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, CNC water jet, and other fabricating equipment. Responsibilities
Import solid model CAD files into CAM software and generate machine code to machine parts in CNC milling machines and CNC lathes Program, material prepare, setup, and operate CNC milling machines with a 5-axis trunnion Program, material prepare, setup, and operate CNC lathe and mill turn Program, material prepare, setup, and operate CNC water jet equipment Prepare stock material for further machining operations Regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, torque, and coolant flow Perform in-process inspection Perform periodic maintenance of machining equipment Qualifications
Certificate in machining required Programming CNC machines experience using CAM software required 3 years minimum experience Must have full understanding of engineering drawings and GD&T Experience with Haas milling and turning equipment desired Ability to understand the manufacturing process and make suggestions for improvement Demonstrate strong time management skills with the ability to effectively coordinate multiple projects Possess the ability to work both independently with minimal supervision and the ability to work in a team environment How to apply
