Pattern®
Overview
Pattern is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead a small team of 1–2 senior engineers and collaborate with creative stakeholders. This is a hands-on technical leadership role focused on setting engineering direction, delivering with excellence, and building tools that infuse AI into creative workflows.
Responsibilities
Lead a high-autonomy engineering team delivering production-grade creative tools.
Shape and communicate architectural vision while contributing hands-on code.
Build systems with strong observability, testing, and maintainability.
Iterate quickly with direct feedback from creatives, ensuring tools deliver real value.
Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and knowledge sharing.
Problem Spaces You May Work In
Content Analysis & Insights — evaluating creative assets to identify performance drivers and improvement opportunities.
AI-Augmented Content Creation — developing tools that help creatives brainstorm, prototype, and produce assets faster while preserving their style and intent.
Workflow Automation for Creative Teams — integrating with design, video, and publishing pipelines to remove manual steps and accelerate iteration.
Data-Driven Creative Testing — building systems that combine creative experimentation with analytics to guide decision-making.
Leadership & Collaboration
Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and code reviews for 1–2 senior engineers.
Partner with creative stakeholders to translate needs into clear engineering initiatives.
Own architectural decisions and ensure long-term maintainability and scalability.
Set development priorities, balancing quick wins with foundational improvements.
Champion AI integration where it drives meaningful creative impact.
We hire for leadership and engineering excellence, not just specific tools. If you’re willing to adopt our stack, we want to talk—even if your background differs.
