Overview

Senior Solutions Engineer (Sales Engineer) - New York City Metropolitan Area. Location: New York, NY (Candidates must be based in the New York City Metropolitan Area). At Neo4j, Solution Engineers are pivotal to our regional go-to-market team. You will partner with our sales executives to showcase the value of our graph data platform and manage the technical aspects of the sales cycle. You will help organizations across industries understand the business and technical value of representing data using Neo4j graphs—beyond rows and columns. You will grow as a thought leader in graphs and solve customers’ high-value problems beyond traditional data solutions.

What Success Looks Like

Developing and honing subject matter expertise to discern customer needs, present technology solutions, demonstrate value of Neo4j through platform and use case demonstrations, solution architecting, workshops, and conferences.

Meeting and exceeding regional revenue goals by helping Sales qualify and validate opportunities from a technical perspective and accelerate the sales cycle and adoption of Neo4j.

Collaborating with Sales, Customer Success, Professional Services, Product Management, and others to deliver continuous value and ensure a seamless customer experience on the graph journey.

What You’ll Do

Actively drive and run the technology evaluation stage of the sales process as the key technical advisor and advocate for Neo4j.

Handle opportunities in parallel and manage technical discovery, presentations, platform and use case demonstrations, proof of value, sizing, and documentation of technical decision criteria.

Build and nurture executive and stakeholder relationships, becoming a trusted advisor to help them understand what they can achieve with Neo4j.

Co-create reference and solution architectures with customers, integrating Neo4j with existing architectures and applications within a public cloud (AWS, Azure, or GCP) or on-premise environment.

Continuously learn Neo4j capabilities, including usage and integration with third-party tools, to articulate business and technical value, address competitive differentiation, and handle objections.

Distill customer needs and product feedback to Product Management, Engineering, Marketing, and Sales.

Participate in account-based marketing events and industry conferences and trade shows to drive demand.

Lead by example to foster teamwork, transparency, creativity, and continuous improvement.

Travel up to 50% to assist in deal creation and closure and provide team support as required.

What You’ll Bring

5+ years of customer-facing experience in a similar capacity (Sales/Presales/Solutions Engineer, Solutions Architect, Technical Consultant, etc.), ideally in a high-growth environment.

Experience with enterprise data architecture, data engineering, data science, or cloud data architecture.

Track record of designing, developing, and implementing data solutions in the public cloud (AWS, Azure, or GCP) or on-premise.

Hands-on experience with SQL and at least one of Python, Java, JavaScript, Go, or C#.

Ability to communicate ideas to technical and non-technical audiences through presentations, whiteboarding, and platform demonstrations.

Technical savviness and business acumen to translate concepts into business outcomes.

Passion for learning new technologies (especially graphs), data modeling, and change management.

Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to prioritize, pivot, and problem-solve.

Knowledge of NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra, DynamoDB, etc.) and/or graph databases (Neo4j, TigerGraph, OrientDB, JanusGraph, etc.) is a strong plus.

Compensation and Benefits The annual on target earnings range for this position based in the United States is listed below. This range is an estimate and may vary based on compensation practices, skills, certifications, and location. In addition to the range below, US employees are eligible for a stock option grant; some roles are eligible for an annual bonus. Employees are also eligible for standard benefits (medical, dental, and vision; 401(k); paid time off; leaves of absence).

Annual On Target Earnings Range

$190,000—$260,000 USD
