Job Summary

System Manager - HIM-Medical Records

in our Temecula office and collaborate with staff across the Region. Duties include but not limited to: Oversee daily operations and staff of the HIM/Medical Records department working closely with the HIM System Directors. Ensures medical records are processed and maintained in accordance with Medical Staff Bylaws, Medical Staff Rules and Regulations and Federal and State Statues. In the absence of the System Director of Health Information Management, this role is expected to assume interim responsibilities. Must be able to travel between facility. 25%. Qualifications

Experience/Training/Experience Bachelor's degree from an accredited College or University in Health Information Management required. Master's degree from an accredited College or University in Health Information Management preferred. Five (5) to Seven (7) years of experience in Health Information Management with emphasis on training, quality and record management required. Minimum 3 years leadership experience in Health Information Management required, acute care experience preferred. Certifications/Licenses

Current Registered Health Information Administrator Certificate (RHIA) or a current Registered Health Information Technician Certificate (RHIT) required. Both are accredited by the American Health Information Management Association. Must have valid California Driver’s License and reliable transportation. Other Skills And Abilities

Demonstrates knowledge and ensures compliance with the Joint Commission and Title 22 standards and guidelines. Demonstrates compliance with Healthcare policies and procedures at all times. Demonstrates strong leadership, organization, communication, and interpersonal skills. Demonstrates ability to relate to clinical personnel and medical staff, as well as ability to interact well with the public. Must have knowledge of PC and applications. Demonstrates the ability to adhere to all Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Federal and State statute, as it related to proper and improper releases. Demonstrates a high level of awareness in protecting patient P.H.I., including double check using two patient identifiers for verification of documentation that may be given to outside agencies or patients. Ability to set priorities and appropriately prioritize workload to complete assignments in a timely manner. Demonstrates knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology. Demonstrates ability to collect and display statistical data. Demonstrates ability to perform and remained focused when working in a fast-pace environment with frequent interruptions. Demonstrate ability to handle emergency or crisis situations. Benefit Highlights
