Lucid Motors is leading the charge in redefining luxury electric vehicles. We are seeking a highly skilled Android Automotive Framework Specialist to join our Infotainment Software team. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing, enhancing, integrating, optimizing, and delivering Android Framework features and functions for Lucid’s next-generation infotainment systems. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams such as application developers, architects and QA in developing and integrating new features and functions. Key Responsibilities

Designing and developing core AOSP middleware systems using C and/or C++. Implementing custom services and device management features. Producing unit, functional, integration and interchangeability tests, including automated tests when possible. Porting and integration of Android framework and HAL to new hardware platforms. Customizing Android framework to suit infotainment form factors. Debugging and resolving Android framework integration issues and BSP issues. Optimizing the performance of Android framework. Working experience in C, C++ or Core/Android Java programming, Android SDK, Android NDK. Technical Expertise

Deep domain understanding of Android Automotive development and debugging tools. Working knowledge in IVI systems such as connectivity (Wi-Fi or Bluetooth or NFC), multimedia (audio or video), display, voice assistants (Alexa, SoundHound), camera, navigation, automotive HMI, Vehicle HAL, etc. Understanding of DeviceTree, Kernel/Framework interface, CTS failure analysis, system stability, peripheral modules, device drivers, etc. Knowledge of Linux internals and Android Automotive internals. Strong OS concepts (multicore, threads, processes, sockets), algorithms, and data structures. Experience modifying Android framework services such as Window Manager, Activity Manager, Package Manager, Connectivity Manager and HALs. Hands-on experience implementing HALs such as Audio HAL, Vehicle HAL, GNSS, etc. Experience in customizing SystemUI, navigation bar and notifications; familiarity with Android and GNU Makefiles, ADB, SQLite and shell scripts. Experience with Android internals and QC chipset. Experience modifying Android framework code for customization. Qualifications and Skills

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or related field. 3+ years of experience in Android application and framework development. Strong proficiency in Java and C++. Familiarity with Android Automotive OS or other infotainment platforms is a plus. Domain knowledge of software development on the Android system and experience with multiple areas of Android SDK. Knowledge of automotive communication protocols such as ARXML, TCP/IP and others. Experience with version control systems like Git. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment; excellent communication skills. Additional Information
