Lorain County Community College is seeking a dynamic Director of Institutional Research to lead and manage the College’s institutional research efforts, federal and state reporting, and data-informed decision support. This role plays a critical part in fostering a culture of evidenced-based decision-making that promotes institutional effectiveness and student success in support of the college's mission and strategic plan. Lorain County Community College is seeking a dynamic Director of Institutional Research to lead and manage the College’s institutional research efforts, federal and state reporting, and data-informed decision support. This role plays a critical part in fostering a culture of evidenced-based decision-making that promotes institutional effectiveness and student success in support of the college's mission and strategic plan.

The Director serves as a strategic partner to campus leadership, providing high-quality research, analytics, and support services to the campus community.

This position reports to the Vice President for Institutional Research, Analytics, & Campus Technologies.

Key Responsibilities

Analytics & Business Intelligence

Collaborate with Campus Technologies to implement and enhance data warehousing and analytics infrastructure.

Data Oversight

Lead the Data Integrity Team and recommend systems and processes ensuring accuracy, reliability, and relevance. Develop the college's research agenda to support enrollment management, academic program review, strategic planning, and institutional effectiveness.

Education & Collaboration

Educate and advise faculty, staff, and administrators on data use, reporting requirements, and compliance implications. Advance campus data literacy training efforts.

Compliance & Reporting

Monitor and ensure compliance with all federal and state reporting requirements. Interpret and communicate regulatory changes and reporting standards to appropriate stakeholders.

Please describe your experience in using data to inform strategies to improve post-graduation outcomes of students, such as certificate graduates continuing towards applied associate's degrees, transfer into a Bachelor's degree program in a major with junior standing, and/or employment with benefits in an in-demand field. You may wish to consider how a research agenda can support this work, how to engage campus stakeholders on these topics in an engaging manner, and/or how improvements to post-graduate outcomes will have an impact on community vibrancy.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in a relevant field (e.g. statistics, social sciences, institutional research, higher education administration). Minimum of 3 years of related work experience in institutional research or data analytics within a higher education setting. Strong knowledge of federal/state reporting requirements (e.g., IPEDS), data governance, business intelligence tools, and data warehouse management. Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skills. Ability to synthesize complex data into clear, actionable insights for diverse audiences.
